Where is all the powder?

I agree. Zero shotgun powders available in southern NJ and DE for the last six months. That is not a hoarding issue.

Sorry Stool I don't live far from Fort Drum and the people I get my powder from told me the same thing K80skeet just told you. The powder they were suppose to have gotten was rerouted to Fort Drum. If you want to believe the government is not thinking of different ways to stick it to you, you have got your head screwed on wrong! In all my years there has never been a HomeLand Security here in Oswego, Now all of a sudden we have one. Just waiting for the armored Vehicules.

no i do not buy it...85/95% of powder in new york...maybe..but who cares about ny !

We've been seeing powder coming in right regular at the local stores. Doesn't stay long on the shelf, maybe a couple weeks. I think most of the people buying it now were folks that couldn't find it for a long time then get wind that one of the stores has it and they go buy a couple-few pounds, not really hoarding more of just buying an extra pound or 2 when it's available. I think that's the buying wave we're in now and it'll settle down soon.

We've had pretty much everything come through short of a lot of VV powder but they are a seperate reason with mfg shifting. In the past couple months I've seen Unique, Red Dot, most all the Hodgdon and IMRs including Varget, and all the Reloaders including 33 and 15. Also shelves have been stocked with primers.

Bullets aren't as plentiful as they once were but it's no where near as bad as it was a year ago.

STOOL THANK YOU For who cares about NEW YORK! That is the reason this Country is in the mess we are in, no one cares anymore. Maybe the Government figures the people where you live aren't a threat so they let you have powder and primers. I haven't seen Federal Primers in over a Year. Lots of Winchesters, but thats a last resort. Same with pistol powder. And I for one will not pay 30 dollars a pound for any of it. None of its worth more than $2.00 a pound like back in the 1960's! Get rid of the cost of living raises that everyone loves and everyone could afford to buy things.

i knew you would appreciate it joe.
as a dealer i tend to order in bigger lots than the average shooter.
everything has shown up eventually. powder, bullets primers brass.
my biggest single wait was for fed primers..just under one year..but they did show up.

if you think the story is true why aren't you doing something about it ??

Ok,how do we know if the dealers are sitting on tons of it to drive up the retail price. Who cares about NY , we do and all americans should be supporting us no matter where you live. How about ,who cares about Colorado.Look what the voters did there? I support all of America as it is what americans do period. When you speak of new York you are thinking the city of new York. The rest of the state is like rolling hills filled with lakes and hunters. The city beats us with numbers and false promises.

It's not just New York, its becoming more of a problem every where and will continue to do so, IMO. The whole west coast is like that and I'm afraid Texas and Florida will go that way too in time.

yep look at colorado...
three elected stat officials RECALLED after the mag ban went in place...

how is ny doing on recalls ??

i do not know any dealers rich enough to stock pile without selling.......i'm sure there are some, but most are moving this months inventory to pay LAST months bills.
it took me 6 years as a small business to stay ahead of the bills, cash in the bank.
i sell what i have so i can buy the next lot.
but i do not sell powder.....
this is the old story of dollars per month based on x volume of sales.
if volume of sales goes down due to lack of inventory..then money has to be added somewhere....often that is an increase in prices.
i just cannot see any one dealer owning enough of anyone product to drive up the price of that one product.

by the way you pro ny'rs...
do you know that the anti-gun legislation in colorado was FUNDED BY A NEW YORKER?...bloomberg
HE SPENT 10 TO ONE on the recalls and his paid politicians all lost.

Our constitution stool doesn't have a provision for recall yet.Where are you from stool? Are you from Colorado or California? I will bet your state has problems too.

I believe it is the people buying tons of powder that will not shoot it all in the near future. I buy enough for what I plan to shoot. Saw a post somewhere online(not here) that the guy said he just buys as much as he can every chance he gets and doesn't even reload!!!!!

I shoot competition so yes I buy more than someone who reloads 200 rounds a year. But that isn't where the problems are from

Stool I've told you what I've been trying to do is get the unsafe act Repealed. I've been to every RALLY IN ALBANY, but with the way Lawyer or liers what ever, things take years. Well I don't think I have a lot of years to wait. It just falls on deaf ears, or your preaching to the choir! Hope I didn't Offend any Lawyers but your to damn slow. Cuomo Hides every time we are there. But there are some that know where he goes and follow. And Bloomberg just has more money than he needs, and thinks he is going to destroy the NRA. He also has that SMALL MAN SYNDROME.
