SEB Update

xphunter said:
Having to wait almost 5 weeks for the NEO's to make it here really caught me off guard.
I started having customers send funds when Sebastian, contacted me to let me know he was sending a shipment. It could take as few as 4-5 days with the maximum time being three weeks before this time.
This way I could ship the rests out as soon as possible.
What I intended/hoped to do was get the rests into the hands of shooters quicker.
I will not do this in the future, as I don't really want a customers funds until I have a rest with their name on it here to ship to them.
We were gone for a period of time to see family for Christmas (wasn't around to answer the phone).
After we got back from KS, I got the flu and was down for more time.
I have been playing catch-up since then, and haven't caught up on emails (will start doing that after this post).
The folks that had sent me money for the NEO's have all been sent out earlier today.
If I miss returning a phone call, please call again.
I will not/do not intentionally ignore anyone.
Can I misplace a number, forget, or make a mistake?--Yes!
We will be out of pocket soon again since I am a grandpa for the first time, and i am going to see my grandson.
Email will be the only way during that period of time, although we have someone house sitting for us.
I don't intend to do business on the thread of a forum.
Please call and or email me.
If you call and do not leave a message, I will not know who tried to contact us.
I know you guys want your rest ASAP.
I wish Sebastian could keep up with all the demands (as does he), but he has a full-time job and a family as well.
I think precision shooters are some of the neatest and best people in the world.
I have enjoyed the visits that we have had.
I hope this explains some of the circumstances.
For those who have been offended, my apologies.
Ernie

Thanks Ernie......AS long as mine is in the mail..he..he

Have fun with the new grandbaby....your lucky.

This rest is really going to be a hit with the varmint shooters. It really has a lot of movement in it. Can't wait to try it when spring gets here.

C'mon BEB, this thing is like holding a faceted jewel in your hands. The movement is smooth and precise yet the top is rock solid and can't be made to jiggle. Let's hear you rhapsodise a bit on Sebastian's creation !

I just had the call....the rest with my name on it arrived in the February shipment! Of course my stock is now at stock maker's for a cheek piece and adjustable butt plate:-)

Berry, If you'll switch the leg with the single screw to the front and the double screw piece to the rear you'll find that the movement of the joy stick is much less restricted and you won't be bumping your knuckles or the joy stick on the rear screw.
I used mine at a VFS shoot at Tomball Texas a couple of weeks back, should have seen the other shooter drooling. I know mine will see lots of time in the p-dog towns this year.

The NEO we have showed 43 MOA elevation travel and 48 MOA windage (horizontal) travel -- Just with the joystick alone. And then you can raise the whole unit up and down on the side support rods.

It is a beautifully made unit. Easily the finest joystick rest I've ever tried. It's smooth and fast, with none of the "notchy" vertical movement found on some other joystick rests. You can go straight to your intended point of aim in one smooth motion. You do NOT have to over-travel vertically and then slide back down.

Thanks a lot for the info. As you can tell I was in a big hurry when I put the rest together. I will make that change for style and comfort!! :)
Thanks again.

Hi Barry,

If you use the rest with the single leg at the rear (shooter's side), remove & replace the long leveling screw with the extra short screw.
The extra short screw is the small screw just in front of the rear leveling screw in your photo.

It is reported that, at several shooting ranges with narrow/small benches, the front rest is better to be used with the long leg at the rear...as this would allow you to put the rest very forward & to get better/more comfortable bench set up. (It's one of Mike Ratigan's input).
Also you can see that the end tip of the long leg is trimmed/milled for about 3/8", to not interferes with the joystick operation, even when the coaxial unit is set at very low position (for instance in down hill shooting).

Be sure to put the "stopper screws" (#3 in the exploded drawing) on the end tip of the posts. It will protect the end tip of the posts from possible hard bump etc. In "transportation mode" these screws are attached to the main base.

Other thing:
The large/wide MOA travel on the NEO is achieved by making the "cut-out" on the coaxial body larger/wider, only. It maintains the innard bearings as close as possible, i.e. for very fine adjustment.

Best,
seb.

Forum Boss, many thanks for the compliment! I'm glad that you like your NEO. See you someday...

I will soon make a video after I have finished my new rifle, and include it in my website, or in youtube(?).
I will explain all the things about the rest, the innards, rest setup, etc.

Still learning English anyway. ;D

Thanks Seb;
I appreciate your suggestion and I will give that a try. I am really looking forward to using this new rest.
Thank you.
