SEB Update

WHAT SAND IS RECOMENDED FOR THE FRONT BAGS. THANKS, MIKE

I'm no expert and this is not a recommendation...
My "theory" is, if your stock is very rigid your bag should be a bit "soft"...if your stock is not very rigid, you may use a little "harder" front bag. (the same thing to rear bag, I believe). Basically, it should be able to dampen the rifle/stock vibration exists during firing/recoil, to some degree.
You might try fine "play sand" + a little gravel. For instance in 5:1, or so. They would "interlock" each others (not so easy to move/displace) and I believe it's legal by the rule.
Any "play sand"...even fine sand for cement/concrete/building work, or beach sand. Gravel...tennis gravel, from crushed brick wall (=finer than the sand).
Any other "sands" should work (it's probably/must be different from area/country to area/country), the most important thing is just to NOT fill the bag too hard, or too soft.

Thanks Seb, Several members have recomended against heavy sand for front bags as being too hard. I would rather not be changing and trying several materials in the bags if I can help it, so would like to get it right the first time. I will try to find some medium grade sand. Small gravel pices would plug up the funnel. Thanks again, Mike

Received my rest about a month ago, finally got to use it in a match and all I can say is how did I live without it! It just made shooting easier, if that makes sense, no separate windage or elevation adjusters to deal with, all adjustments are literally in the palm of your hand and let me tell you that palm of your hand doesn’t have to go very far to reach the joystick, no more reaching up and trying to turn wheels, simply fabulous! I also must say I find it pretty fast to “set up” I’m one of those guys that likes to pack all my stuff in hard Pelican cases, when this rest is assembled in its “packed” state it really doesn’t take up much room at all compared to the original SEB or other large front rests, bravo!

Now it’s time to start modifying it! (for a custom appearance- not function)

Also one little issue I found that others may want to look into and SEB may want to bring up with his MFG. The underside of my front stop was not completely smooth, had some nasty burrs on it from being “cut off” on the lathe. I found when you went to slide the stop it scratched the beautifully polished aluminum below. I would advise others to check this and if need be take off the stop and sand/polish up the face.

Ragged,

Thanks you for the input!
I should be slept when QC-ing/final check the rests! :(
Please accept my apology!
Please let me know your shipping address I will send a replacement to you.

Best Regards,

The SEB NEO is the best rest I have ever owned and that includes the original SEB. If you want a joy stick rest this is the one. Another thing I can say is, Sebastian Lambang supports his product. If he says he will do something for you, he will. It may take a while for the extra part to get from Indonesia, but it will get here. Thanks Sebastian.

Seb. The more I use my new NEO the more I enjoy having not only a GREAT LOOKING piece of equipment but I can not imagine a better design, it functions flawlessly and it's movements are as smooth as glass. We shooter owe you our gratitude for producing such a fine rest and your customer service is top shelf as well.

Regards
RJ

I just sent 10 SEB & 5 NEO & many bags to E two weeks ago.
I will have 15 NEO around late March for him.
I have 100 set of parts in progress, NEO 2nd run (some items are 100% done), but can only work/install 25 units at a time to speedy the completion/delivery.
Please don't rush me if you want a perfect rest. ;D ...*(this is true to some degree...in rush hour I can't work & final check all things properly).
I wish I only make one type of rest (the NEO), but the SEB gen-2 is still in demand/in request so I still make this original rest.
Some people even asked me to make a rest specially made for Heavy Gun with 6" stock....kind of "challenge" for me while I've been very-very busy for the last two years already.
But thanks you guys for your patience & support!

Seb, you just keep up the excellent work and we'll all deal with the wait !!!!!
It's just that we've been teased with all the good things said, and all the photo's posted of it on the site, so it's hard to not be chomping on the bit so to speak...
I'm still up to my back pockets in snow, so all I could do if I had it would be to
enjoy your workman ship and wait some more....... All good things, ya know :)

In that case Preacher if yours comes before mine, can I have it? It's sunny and match time in the south!

No need to send a new one, I took care of the issue, it was a very minor fix. Keep up the good work!

After my offer to the Preacher, all I hear is crickets chirp'n. he.......he.......I don't blame him

To much snow for the crickets to be chirping around here..
Ernie just told me I would have it in late April if all goes well..
Seems I'm setting at # 26

I think I'm 27.

Between waiting on an action from Bat and waiting on a NEO and waiting on bullets and waiting on a barrel it seems my time is all spent in waiting and not shooting. :'(

Sorry guys....
Problem is I can't raise my production rate at this time being.
The rest making is not my full time job, my primary job is interior contractor overhere in Indonesia.
I will tell you here that even my friend "M.R." (a HOF shooter that creates "E.R.A" book, he ordered two more rests for himselves) has to wait also, and he didn't/doesn't mind with the long wait.
Just for an example.
It doesn't matter whether you are a top shooter or not, all have to queue (in the waiting list) and all will have the same service from me!

Thanks you for your understanding!

seb.

PS: Once again, if any of you here in a hurry to get a coaxial rest, please consider to buy other rest such as the Farley or ShadeTree. (they are also great rests, I believe).
You can easily cancel the order, just inform Ernie, and that would be no problem.
As you know also, we do not ask/accept payment before the goods are available & ready to ship.

Hope this help. :)

Does anyone use a Pelican storm case for storage & travel of their Neo ??? If so which one ? Thanks, 45/70SS

44/70SS, I don't know with the Pelican case...anyway the NEO in "travel mode" measures approximately 5" thick x 13" wide x 11.25" tall.
Hope this help.
