I wanted to share my recent hunting rifle build. I believe I made a ultimate classic modern 6BR rifle.

22" Shilen 5.5 contour 1:10 twist threaded 5/8x24
Fully re finish of a 70s era bdl stock
Timney HIT trigger
Leupold v3HD 6.5-20x50
I wanted to build a classic bdl rifle using the great 6br cartridge. I completely redone a bdl stock, that took a while. My local gunsmith chambered me up this shilen barrel with a no turn ptg reamer. .60 thousand freebore. Cut to 22" and threaded for my suppressor. I followed Mike Bryant's instructions on the internal box mag, it feeds flawlessly. Bedded the rifle with marine tex. I am using alpha brass. With only 30 rounds down the tube things are looking promising using 95gr bib bullets over varget and 90gr eldx over varget. This rifle is going to be a lot of fun to hunt with. I always use Sierra's 85 gr. B.T.-H.P. Game King bullet for deer and pronghorn antelope over a stiff dose of H-4895 powder. I shoot this same bullet / powder combination in three different 6 mm B-R rifles.

Are your running suppressed loads with the suppressor? Iv never loaded for using a suppressor. Just guessing, are you at 27grains or less?

No I'm running 30.7gr of varget with these 90gr eldx. To me my suppressor makes it tolerable to shoot without ear pro. With this and my Dasher the suppressor really does a great job with that. I have never loaded a slower load to run suppressed.

Left rifle is my Wifes deer rig 20" 6bra 1-8 running 103 eldx with varget. Sig sauer bdx 2-12x40. I really love the wood stock and classic look

This one is what I’ve been using when hunting around the house. It was a couple of years in the works. Got 5% off due the scratches on the stock, (was a 6.5 CM) had the firing pin bushed, 10T Pac Nor barrel, and Cerakote. Found a decent load quickly and stopped for now. Berger 87 VLDH, 26.4 LT-32, Lapua cases. Shoots about a half inch at 160, I shouldn’t have more than 90 here around the house. 45-50 is more likely. I swapped the 4.5-14 in favor of the 1-4. The 1-4 has an illuminated dot crosshair.

I love the bdl stock.
I have a stiller Tac 30 with a Brux 8 twist 6.5x47 in a BDL varmint special stock.

2023 rifle season is in the books for us in KY. The 6br Remington BDL preformed flawlessly. The 90gr eldx load took 4 doe and one coyote with excellent results. Ranges from 75 yards out to 250. It's a awesome classic hunting rifle and one I will continue to use and load for.

I have always wanted to build one like that. You had me right up till the silencer. I like em. Just lost me on the classic thing.
I ended up chambering the 6XC over 6BR for a hunting Rifle and have been happy enough to abandon the 6BR idea.
But nice build, nice Rifle.
