Rem 700 and 6BR

@burlflet

Myself will recommend to go custom.
And will suggest the Kelby Atlas Tactical. There only $999 that come with these things:
  • TG Ejector (about the slickest ejectors I've ever seen and/or used)
  • Scope Rail included (20-MOA)
  • Pinned Recoil Lug
  • Trigger Hanger
  • Black Nitride Coated
IMO- there the "best bang for the buck" around right now. Very well machined, designed & functional.

Thanks!

I'm also looking at whether to buy a trued action, or not.

You could spend a lot of time and money truing and fixing the problems with a Rem 700 action and you will still not be as good as you would with a Stiller Predator action.

I shoot a Stiller Predator in 6 BR, no feeding or ejection problems of any sort.

Interesting... I had a lot of problems with feeding with a Stiller Predator... their magazine box is not the same size as the Remington 700. I need to get a Wyatt mag box and it does not fed well.

First, I used it with a 30BR caliber barrel with heavy bullets (150 to 180grs). After not getting it to feed the cartridges with some reliability, I decided to change the barrel for a .308win and I still have to be careful with the bolt manipulation. Otherwise the cartridge jams about 30% of the time.

LRCampos.

I have a Rem 700 Single Shot I bought through Bud's. I lapped the lugs and my gunsmith took care of the remaining accuracy work when he installed the barrel. New rifle so limited experience. Fire forming and one match with formed 6 BRA brass and no ejection problems in either case. The Remington action is a good low cost entry if you can do some of the work yourself and have a responsible gunsmith to work with. I bought the tools to lap my own lugs from Brownell"s. Bud's price on the Rem 700 Single actions has dropped; last time I checked it was in the $320's shipped. This was my entry into the custom world, next time will probably be a custom action too.
