Was hoping you could get your eyes on it but yes, someone will likely be of help.Mike, I think Ringgold, Tex is about 140 miles away. I'll bet with the help from our fellow forum members help he will solve it.

That tube and spring get neglected and will rust/corrode in there, so not a bad bet. He said the gun was thoroughly cleaned and I assumed that was addressed in that.I'm putting my money on the recoil spring.
#28 in the schematic. It could also be a weak magazine spring, not letting the shell hit it hard enough. Or rust and crud and who knows what in the mag tube. Another culprit for these malfunctions are a plastic magazine follower that gets knackered up and fouls the interceptor latch. Replace with a Brownells aluminum one. Are the shell latches loose/worn? As the bolt reaches full rearward position the next shell should release from the mag with a bit of force.I guess this indicates an issue with the release tab at the rear of the lift carrier?
Ken, is this the one that Thom mentioned?#28 in the schematic. It could also be a weak magazine spring, not letting the shell hit it hard enough. Or rust and crud and who knows what in the mag tube. Thom is leaving the ranch soon. He and the vet got the cow up and healing. He said he would look at the video when he got home and had the bigger TV screen. He is a retired engineering person and is mechanically inclined. He has a lot of common sense and is grateful for everybody's help. Here is a pic, of mine. Hasn't been cleaned since pheasant season ended. If I pull the bolt slowly, hold the bolt back. As soon as I let go of the bolt it chambers the shell(2 3/4") 3" gun. So the shell hit the tab and released the dog. Only my hand keeps bolt from closing. Pull back normal and let go round chambers.View attachment 1527537
He replaced all of that, but!Total brain fart extreme! Forgot the ABSOLUTE FIRST THING to check when the 1100 no workee.
Make sure the O ring is not wrecked, and the piston and piston seal are not turned around backwards!!
Happens all the time. "Me and my Brother in Law cleaned it up real good, and now it wont eject."
Still, check it for backwards!!He replaced all of that, but!
Mike, it was a freebee. I've asked to purchase it from my friend that gave it to Thom. The fact it functions with that ammo implies a totally different issue or direction to look. It appears the bbl has been cut down which might necessitate slightly opening the gas port(s). That's assuming it's properly assembled...o-ring and gas piston assembly in particular is what I'd check first. Probably fixable though. If it was given to him, I'd give him his money back, at least. Lol! Nice wood.
If for some reason someone has the trigger group out and snaps the trigger, the carrier latch will break.Last one I worked on that wouldn't behave the Carrier Latch (#28) had a broken leg near the pin hole. Also a bunch of crud in the carrier latch follower hole.
But it feeds a specific ammo without issue...Still?If for some reason someone has the trigger group out and snaps the trigger, the carrier latch will break.
Two? I couldn't remember on the 2-3/4 guns so I didn't assume either way.Make sure that the barrel has two gas ports in it.
