Recommend a level bubble

Lots of options out there. You want a very cheap model, good value in the mid-range, or top of the line?

Vortex are in the $40-50 range, and available in several different tube diameters. I don’t have experience with them.

I don't care for the regular Vortex bubble level, I get too much bubble separation during recoil. Vortex's Low Profile version is pretty solid.

I'm partial to Tubb's ELR bubble level.

You can get them as cheap as $10-15, most likely junk. High end units fixed units around $80-100 or $120-160 for articulating levels from Flatline Ops. There are also electronic models that emit a tone when you’re level, don’t remember who makes the electronic ones.

MK Machining. Nice smart people, active on the forum for precision rifles, good stuff, and they have a clear budget/not distinction, make most things in 3D printed form for much less. The plastic ones work well also.

There are definitely tiers of quality, as with anything. My machinist’s level was over $1000, and it’s middle of the road.
I understand a machinist level and the tiers of quality. But in our case rifle bubble level, a $25 level vs $120 will not show true? and if it does not show true, how much error will the shooter see on teh POI?

I am not trying to argue, I have always wondered about it. I almost bout a $60 level but I just could not see the benefit because no one has ever been able to explain for me understand.

I probably can’t explain it to you any better than the last person that tried. If you don’t see any added value, the $25 level was a good decision for you.

I have Flatline Ops articulating levels on two long range guns. Will buy another when the need arises. I have a friend who is a legit gunsmith. He puts a lot of Vortex bubble levels on scopes if folks don't want to pay for the higher end levels.

In all seriousness, wasn’t it decided that the human eye could determine level from not much better than the cheap bubbles on scope tubes? Seems I read about that in a very well known ballistics book a few years back .

side note:

I started leveling my scopes by sitting a razor blade flush with the top of the bottom half of my scope rings, lining that up with the 0 indicator dot next to the windage housing and cross referencing that with the raceway and top of the receiver. It hasn’t lied to me yet, but I always buy very good optics.
