RCBS Bench Primer w Holland Upgrade vs Primal Rights $600.00 Tool

Your ability to actually control the depth and the datum of measure the is used to measure that.

Shipping is one thing but to charge a retail customer a CC fee.
The oil companies have no trouble doing and in fact prior to the insane prices averaged a 10 cent hike when using a credit card. What the CC likes to call a ‘merchant discount’ which is not a discount but a charge. Depending on your volume and average CC price as a retailer you negotiate your ‘discount’. 3.5% is average. So as a retailer you have a silent 3.5% silent partner.
Here’s a way it goes badly. A few years ago NYS auto inspection cost $10.00
That’s all the customer is having done. He wants to pay with a CC. If I take this payment along with maybe 100 others in a month, my CC average ticket puts me well below the average CC ticket I negotiated for and in a flash I have a 5% silent partner. BTW this ‘discount’ is automatically deducted from my account as per their set up to take cards. I often with a regular customer told him I’d just put it on his next bill or would just tell him it was on me.
There’s a reason these CC companies survive even though CC scams cost them millions.

You can but I am not touching every primer to set in the tool. When I can load up a dillon tube and go.

What is your time worth? If I can buy faster and more accurate. I'll do that.
My time is worth...Nothing. I'm retired. I have, to date, not developed any problems with touching primers. It must be the gloves I wear while priming.

I am not saying you have problems with contamination of the primers. I am saying you have to physically touch them as in the act of doing it.

@SPJ

Are you using the case rim that varies from case to case to measure depth of your primer pockets. And the making sure each picket is parrallel with the case rim and the exact depth. And then sorting your cases based on rim thickness.

Then measuring each primer cup and anvil arms. Then sorting them into batches to them seating them.

Remember pockets do change on every firing.

As I will refer to Bryan Litz own words thru lavatory testing. That primer depths have no statistical value.

But what was significant was primer to powder burn rate match.

there are ways to seat primers using the bottom of the primer pocket as a datum instead of the case rim.

So, what is more important? The consistent distance for firing pin contact, or floor thickness/flash hole ignition? My primary interest is for competition ammo. Can someone spell it out for me in crayon?

Wondering if RCBS would supply overlength plungers for the bench tool, would sure solve a lot of issues. .010, . 005, over would be good enough to be able to modfy to length.

The rcbs bench tool doesn't require overlength plungers..just keep pushing if you want them deeper..do you have a way to measure primer seat depth from case head? Do you have a way to measure primer seat depth from bottom of primer pocket? Consistency is the key..about .005 past anvil contact...
