RCBS Bench Primer or Frankford Arsenal Perfect Seat Hand Primer

Check out this bad boy. I didn't even know they made a powder drop. I was looking to replace my ancient Hornady powder drop for doing high volume varmint ammo for p dog hunting, and I discovered the Frankfort arsenal on eBay. This thing is the most badass powder drop I've ever felt in my entire life. It actually has ball bearings in it. The micrometer is next level. The entire thing is nicer than anyone I've ever seen.

Frankfort arsenal makes good stuff. I'm sorry, they really do.

So this isn’t an update on how the Ugly Precision Primer works, but I did just want to say how thoroughly impressed I am with Carl’s customer service!

Placed the order on Thursday at 12:34pm ET and had tracking and shipping confirmation from Carl at 1:55pm. I had planned the purchase that it would come at soonest on Monday or Tuesday since I was out of town through the weekend, and the original delivery date was Monday. Perfect timing! Well much to my surprise, I got a delivery notification Saturday morning, so quick that I had to have a buddy swing by and grab it for me so it wasn’t just hanging out in my mailbox for for 2 days for some porch pirate to get a hold of. For reference, this shipped from I believe Colorado to upstate New York in less than 48 hours, not like it was going just a few towns over.

I’m excited to put it through the paces tonight once I get my son down, but if the actual seater is half as impressive as Carl’s turnaround time and CS (the package came with a note with his cell number for direct contact if needed), I’ll be thoroughly impressed! ~$250 isn’t a nominal amount of money for me to spend on something like this, so this type of experience is the type of thing that makes me a lifelong customer.

Concur. I have Hornady, Lyman, RCBS, Redding, Ohaus Duo, and lee measures, and the FA is the best of the bunch. Changing from pistol to rifle cylinders takes a little effort, but this measure is almost perfect for accuracy and precision.

Im guessing most short range benchrest shooters have switched over to these then?…

It has kind of caught my interest though with the ball bearings, just to have a separate measure for ball powder for the 223. Plus this unit with stand will just cost what a box of primers do now.
