Question

That's what I have understood as well, but these two lots of Biathlon Xtreme have me scratching my head over it. Both bought last summer, one from Creedmoor, one from Mile High.
I bought a couple of bricks of the 604351 lot of Biathlon Xtreme from Mile High this past summer, and it didn't shoot worth a hoot in any of the custom barreled Vudoo rifles I tried it in. How'd it do for you?

I've bought Polar Biathlon in the past, and the bullet shape of both Xtreme & Polar are different than any other Lapua or SK I've ever seen. Polar still has the rolled lube grooves, while Xtreme's bearing surface is smooth, devoid of lube grooves.

The lot I have shot is the 504351 and it has shot very well for me in the single rifle I have tried it in. Most recently shot 249-8X from the bench on the IR-50/50 target at 50 m with custom stocked KK-500 barreled action (Outdoors, 38F, wind 3-6 mph).

I picked up the second lot from a shooting friend who shoots a Vudoo. Both he (and a second friend that also shoots a Vudoo) didn’t like it at all. Not only didn’t it shoot well for them, they both had a lot of difficulty chambering it in their Vudoo's with uncomfortably stiff effort required to shut the bolt. Neither was interested in trying some of the 504351 to compare. Go figure!

One shoots a V-22, the other a V-22S, and both shoot Center-X and Midas+ very well. The overall length of C-X, M+, PB, & BX are the same, with the biggest physical difference being the tapered shoulder at the front of the driving band for both of the Biathlon rounds. Comparing them, I just can't see a reason that the BX would be harder to chamber than the C-X & M+. Another rimfire mystery... I am confident I will find something in my gun room that will shoot it!

Shot this target with the Anschutz before sending it to the west coast. It was not bedded and only sitting in the stock with 30 inch pounds on the screws. Notice also that once I moved off the sighter target, I did not return to them.

Nice.... so you sent it West so I can shoot against it!

Thanks... that'll be the last time I try to convince one of the F Class crowd to come play in the Smallbore pond!
