Weird match ammo results

Yes, it is possible.
Does this mean that the characteristics that made a lot perform poorly in many barrels can be altered in other barrels?

As an example, among contributing factors or indeed causes of poor performance is a wide ES. Can ES change significantly from one barrel to the next?

At first, I thought it shot very well at 50yds. but it was 50 feet indoors! that is 100 feet less than normal RFBR would test any ammo. seriously to expect going from 50 feet indoor to 300 feet outdoor to expect reasonable results.
even ammo tested at 50m indoor at the test center can produce results that are more than double at 100m what it did at 50m. the expectations for 100 yds.based on 50 feet results are unrealistic IMO.

Other way around.
Bought it hoping it would effectively be center-x which I couldn't get.
Tried it at 100 first(and tried a 2nd time) and it was horrible. Much worse than wolf. Like bulk crap.
Tried it at 50 feet knowing that ammo is less critical, hoping it would be good enough that I could use it for something.
Surprised that it was not just ok, but actually very good at 50'. Shot literally my best ever 50' decimal match.
Possibly everything is good at 50' and this was just coincidence.

The case should last me about 5 years of indoor matches!

I just opened a 5000 round case of lapua biathlon that I bought a year or more ago when it was available and center-x and midas were not. Rifle is an Anschutz 54 that seems to slightly prefer tenex but has shot quite well with center-x and midas in the past.

After double checking everything, the ammo is shooting just terrible(unusable) at 100 yard f-class and very well in 50' indoor f-class.

Like stringing the whole 8-ring for vertical at 100 but shooting 634/600 in decimal scored indoor.

I guess the bullets and case dimensions are good but the powder charge is inconsistent??

At least it's good for something, I may be using the case for indoor matches for years. ;)

What temps?

My apologies, I thought you shot it at 50-ft first. is this a factory barreled 54? some factory barreled 54 are finicky on what ammo it will shoot. FWIW most ammo should shoot good at 50-feet.

I shot a 100 yard match last winter. We shoot the 50 yard NRA A23/5 target at 100 yards. It was 25 degrees when we started. My first target, 4 bulls for score and 1 for sighters scored 200 17xs. I measured each group. They were .30, .42, .58, and.72 these with sk biathlon. Average size for groups was .50. I fired 3 more targets, 12 bulls with sk long range and targets averaged .72, .87, and .90.
