Question for pistol shooters

Go with a CZ 75 or derivative. There are people who shoot Bullseye pistol with them stock. Very accurate out of the box. Put a reflex red dot on it. Go shoot. A lot.

I don't think you could go wrong with a Dan Wesson PM-9, CZ TSO or a Shadow 2. Look for a USPSA match close to you, go check it out. You'll probably find 2 or all 3 of these models there to check out.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will add that I've got big hands. A model 19 doesn't really fit me: I can't get my finger in the trigger guard without breaking my grip from the gun and I end up pulling the trigger with the second joint of my finger (closest to palm). There is no way for me to contort my fingers in such a way as to use the pad of my finger, or even the first joint like a lot of folks do. So that's a major consideration and part of why I was thinking of going with a large, full-frame pistol. A generously sized trigger guard, changeable grips, and an adjustable trigger shoe would be very nice options to have!

Oh neat! I've been thinking I need to look for a different grip for the revolver to extend the pull some.

Sig 320 X5 Legion might be worth a look. Had one as a range gun, great shooter, but a bit heavy for my use, built a custom G34/G4 to replace it.

I don't know about the CZ but you might want to check out the SIG P210 Target. The reviews look pretty good for it and it looks like it would fit your requirements.

The P210 target is the best of of the box precision pistol I can think of.
The trigger is light for Bullseye, however, using the P210 military springs will get it in compliance.

Ha! Old thread but I have moved forward and can offer a new perspective. I went after one of those old Mauser Lugers on Gunbroker and got it. After shooting it for a while, I learned it’s nice but very finicky about what load you feed it. Also, you need a Kungfu grip to load more than 4 rounds in the magazine. It’s a nice collector but I can see why it was replaced.
I bought a CZ off a friend. It was an impulse buy for him and he never shot it. They are fantastic pistols! It’s my favorite shooter! It’s one of the better offerings of the 75. Can’t remember which one.

Yup! Mine eats just about anything. It’s easy to shoot and accurate! I’d suggest them to anyone looking for a good shooter.

I have about 10,000 rounds through mine and not a single malfunction. It has been flawless. The TS is single-action only and the trigger is just fantastic. 100 yard shots have never felt so achievable with a pistol before (revolvers yes, but not pistols).

Just picked this TS2 a couple weeks ago and the trigger is very nice. Measured the trigger pull and it's right at 1 pound.

OP, if you're wanting competition ready (usually a Carry Optics division), a Shadow 2 is a fine and reliable pistol. I have more than 20k rounds on my Shadow 2 and use it for USPSA and 3 Gun.

For $2500 I enjoy my Bul Tac Pro over my Staccato and a fair amount of people agree. I've shot a Integral Comped Platypus and enjoyed that as well, I don't own that one though.

Stay way from Sig P320, just search uncommanded discharge on youtube or google. There is a reason many ranges banned them. my .02c

What are you intentions? Modern Collectors pistol? Competition? Battle Proven?

If you want to dive into the HK realm, i'd be happy to provide recs. I'm a HK Fanboy having built 2 G36ks and UMP45 along with their USP line. My daily is a HK CC9.
