A failure to plan is a plan for failure.
I recently introduced a coworker to shooting. We shot some clay targets from my spring thrower. He went hog wild. Went straight to Cabela’s here and bought two shotguns.
Then he asked me about deer hunting (in Georgia). He asked me about a Tikka Lite in 6.5 CM that he could get a great deal on. I swallowed my contrarian nature and told him to go for it. He also bought a Nikon scope. He brought it to me and I mounted and bore sighted it for him. He shot some and liked it.
He then discovered that he’d gotten a different scope than he wanted. He went back and swapped it out.
While there he looked at buying some more ammo. The guy helping him gave him the impression that he could shoot 6 CM in his 6.5 CM. I don’t know what that was all about. But he left with that idea and seem to find backup on the web.
Holy crap, Batman. God save us from enthusiastic noobs and retail help that either doesn’t know crap or can’t communicate clearly.
Rant over.
