Not doable?2925 fps with a 140 in a creedmoor?
Not doable?
Me neither, most likely would not have a 26" barrel too.Dang, that's definitely lean on it at those pressures. I don't think I'd want to push a hunting rifle that hard.
Personally your version of the 6.5 Trump's his BUT I guess I'm biased. I own a 260 also and believe it's a superior cartridge to the creedmoor. Either way, MOA is the issue of the discussion when running that weight bullet a mile.I agree, I just don't own a 6.5 Creed...If he thought I was cheating. I'd break out the old 260 Rem AI...I like that one too..But it needs a new barrel or set back...Two hard seasons worth on it w my Nephew heating it up....Mike in Ct
I love the Tee shirt slogan..." Long Range shooting is like Golf but for men". You mentioned golf so had to add that.Maybe he’s shooting it like golf. Shoot. Go to where the first bullet hits. Shoot again. Etc, etc. He’d be on in three or four shots.![]()
Not happening. Can't get to 2900 with my 260. Not safely anyway.2925 fps with a 140 in a creedmoor?
It can, has and will continue getting done but not with a zero moa base. We all hear guys pipe up after they hear talk of long range shooting. They want to fit in that crowd but don't realize there is more to it than just pointing and pulling a trigger. 90% of the work isn't at the range. Not sure, rare I care what anyone not a friend is doing, or what they shoot. I've witnessed a 6.5 creed hit at 1650 with authority, no reason to think 1760 not doable. I read on snipers hide guys hitting a mile, no reason for me not to believe someone, or question it.
I'm saving the last 15 minutes of my life for golf!I used to think I was a good shooter, till I came here. All these 1800 yd shooters and half moa shooters . I can’t even average over 194/200 at 600 yds on a regular basis.
I guess I’ll take up golf
I wonder if the knob on the top is marked for windage?I had a guy tell mr he had a knob on the left side of his scope marked with yardages and he just turned it to X yards and shot and its right on
I see loads published in BR-wildcat section for the 6 Dasher that far outdo any published data for the 243 Win(manuals). The Dasher has 13gr less case capacity than the 243. So case design, case efficiency, freebore, etc.. really play hard here. Not happening. Can't get to 2900 with my 260. Not safely anyway.
Right still the creedmoor isn't out running the 260 regardless. So far that data doesn't exist for the 6.5 creedmoor vs the 260. If it does, I sure would like to see the chronograph screen and not numbers in a book.I see loads published in BR-wildcat section for the 6 Dasher that far outdo any published data for the 243 Win(manuals). And you sir are right, I was just saying making case to case comparisons can be misleading.Right still the creedmoor isn't out running the 260 regardless. I completely understand case efficiency. The 260 is no less efficient than the 6.5 Creedmoor is. The extra pressures of the creedmoor still don't make it a wash. Sorry but I do not believe a 150 smk will make 2900 fps with that cartridge.
