Think of it like buying stock. My average price per round/share is……My problem is not about economics or communism vs capitalism, it’s about greed. We now have a large percentage of shooters with the attitude of “not what I need, but how much I can hoard”. With the prices being paid and the profits being made, this industry is not going away. But these people continue to feed the frenzy, pay whatever is asked and increase demand (artificially) by hoarding. By the way, I’m sure most of these same people would cry foul the loudest when a natural disaster or another terror attack causes gas lines and price gouging. There’s NO difference. An opportunist is an opportunist. And the worst aspect to me is they are not the least bit shameful in admitting and even reveling in their “emergency” stock piles. Pretty pathetic. Just my opinion.
Kind of playing devils advocate, but if you don't know how long this component drought is gonna last how do you know if you have more than you need? I've always been a bit of a packrat and have some bullets I've had for years I gave 5.89 a box of a hundred. Wish I'd have bought a bunch more now in hindsight and I'm not gonna be apologetic about it. Things never get cheaper and I've been through this shortage crap since at least 1993. I've always figured better to have and not need than need and not have. EVERYONE could have been doing the same thing. You don't have to have a pile of money to do it. A box of bullets or some powder several times a month and a guy wouldn't be in a bad position. I'm not gonna feel bad for others being asleep at the wheel, especially if you've been in the game 10 or more years. If you went through the panic when Obama was elected and didn't stock up when you could after he left office, guys like me aren't your problem.Rationalize how ever you want. If you have what you need, I’m proud for you. If you’re grabbing everything you can regardless of need, then you’re a part of the problem. If you’re proud of an attitude like that, then yes, you’re exactly one I was talking about.
They sure have!Just noticed pv raised Hodgdon brands about $4/lb fwiw
They sure have!
I guess we opened the on ramp for them and they jumped right in the fast lane with the others.
Well one of the ways is seeking suitable substitute components I think. Like N130 or LT30 or IMR 4198 instead of the absolutely unobtainable H4198. Standard primers like the CCI 400 instead of the BR4 and on and on. Once we get fixated on certain powder and primer combos its hard to think outside of the box. Think of it like food...if you can't get beef or pork, you will eat rabbit, squirrel and venison instead. Matter of survival so to speak.I don't see how these stores stay in business with the lack of supplies !
