Wont be able to make it down. Hate to say work is getting in the way of shooting this spring.
Hopefully I'll be able to make the fall.

Re: PALO ALTO MID-RANGE PRONE/F-CLASS REGIONAL- 4/5-6/2014- Donaldsonville, LA

I've had a few folks PM me wondering about what we will do if we get some rain this weekend. Our 600 yard firing line is covered with a continuous bench to store equipment. Our pits are partially covered. Unless it's a hard, steady rain we can continue to shoot. The firing line is dry and the pits have grating installed above ground, so no mud to deal with. Here's a couple of pictures.

That's a awesome cover on your firing line. I am wondering how you grow grass under the roof and keep it green?

Man, that good La. top soil will grow anything anywhere!

Even first class F classers!

Re: PALO ALTO MID-RANGE PRONE/F-CLASS REGIONAL- 4/5-6/2014- Donaldsonville, LA

I wasn't expecting any straight answers, lol. I hope you fellows have a great match this weekend and stay dry. I know you have some excellent shooters and I am sure the results will be impressive. Good luck and good shooting.

PALO ALTO RIFLE & PISTOL CLUB
2014 REGIONAL

54 shooters decided to take a chance on the weather and made it to the match. With an 80% chance of rain for Saturday and 90% for Sunday the group decided if the rains held off we would try to get 4 strings in on Saturday. It did and we did.
Sunday morning dawned foggy and by 10:30 AM the Prone folks were still unable to clearly see their targets, so we had a meeting with them and let them decide what they wanted to do. They decided as a group to call their match with the 4 relays.
The F-Class folks hung around and around 11:15 AM they were able to see well enough to shoot. We got the final 2 strings in before the rains.

Stacey Tamulinas won the Gold in Prone shooting a 798-56X. Warren Freeman took Silver with 797-38X and Bill Jenkins took the Bronze with a 791-41X.
Jon Rhynard was 1st High Master, Tommy Laing was 1st Master and Kenneth Wegenhoft was 2nd Master.

Jim Suber won the Gold in F-Open with a 1194-80X. John Brewer won Silver with a 1194-59X and Bo Hood took Bronze with a 1192-68X.
James Laney was 1st High Master with a 1192-56X and Marc Olivier was 2nd High Master with a 1191-66X. Mark Kurtz took 1st Master/Master Unclassified/Expert with a 1184-64X and Chip Noel took 2nd Master/Master Unclassified/Expert with a 1179-59X.

C.J. Britt won the Gold in FTR with a 1185-47x. Jade Delcambre took Silver with a 1184-58X and Chris Hebert took Bronze with a 1182-54X.
Alton Britt was 1st High Master with a 1177-43X and Mickey Brinkman was 2nd High Master with a 1176-43X. Tony Arcement was 1st Master with an 1176-54X. Shawn Broussard was 1st Expert/Sharpshooter/Marksman with a 1178-43X and Brad Mitchell was 2nd
Expert/Sharpshooter/Marksman.

A special thanks to Rob Westfall and Ronald Kliebert for helping with the line and keeping the scorecards sorted out. To Brad Bouy for cooking and a special thanks to the ladies that kept up with the scoreboard. These folks’ tireless efforts helped make it all possible.

The state match is October 4 and 5, 2014 and is already half full of paid entries.

Thanks to everyone for coming out.

Rick

I shoot with Stacey Tamulinas at Bayou Rifles whenever we have a match... I also shoot with him nearly every week at Bayou for practice. Stacey is a shooting machine. I doubt there are any better in his "sling shooter" competitions.. There MAY, and I mean only MAY, be his equal, but none better... I have seen him shoot 10 shot strings that were under 6" at 1000 yards with IRON SIGHTS!! He is the best there is>>>period! GREAT shooting Stace!!

We got really lucky this weekend and dodged the rain, turned out to be a great match. Thanks to all involved that put it on.

Ben, i agree with you about Stacey being a great shooter, you better have your A+ game to beat him.

You didn't do too badly yourself Jade.
Good shooting dude

Thanks Mr. Jim, i was glad with the way the rifle/load performed.....Congrats on the F-Open win, you dropped the hammer on the X ring..... ;)

It was great shooting with both of you and hopefully next year I can give Jim a better run for his money:). For those that have never shot at Palo Alto it was a 1st class match that was ran flawlessly and I look for to returning. If you have never been beat by a little old man in overalls this will be a great opportunity for that to happen.
