Give me a day or two to recover and I'll get all the results out, but in the meantime.
Jade Delcambre won FTR
Ben Steinsholt won Open
Kenny won Prone

Was a great match with some really good shooters.
A special thanks to the Bayou Rifle group for making the trip over enmasse. It was great seeing some of you again and meeting others for the first time.
We had shooters from West Texas, Florida, Illinois and Mississippi with us.

BTW- There are only 10 slots left for the October Championship match.

Congratulations to the winners.

Rick, you have 2 spots for me correct?

Your all set.
I am now down to only 7 slots left.

Re: 2015 Palo Alto Spring Regional- March 7 and 8, 2015

Congrats to all the winners! It looks like Jade is ready for prime time now.

Texas State Championship is coming us soon Scott. It's closer than Louisiana, should we expect you? ;D

Re: 2015 Palo Alto Spring Regional- March 7 and 8, 2015

Just to add, Tony Arcement who won Silver in FTR was shooting a .223 all weekend. He was about 7 points behind Jade, but still did a great job with the small caliber.

Re: 2015 Palo Alto Spring Regional- March 7 and 8, 2015

I just wanted to say "Thanks Rick" for the taking of your own time to host a PHENOMENAL match. EXTREMELY well run, GREAT people and a most enjoyable time! Thanks again Rick! I appreciate it and I have NO DOUBT so did everyone there! Great job!

Re: 2015 Palo Alto Spring Regional- March 7 and 8, 2015

Hey Barry! We missed you out there! On Saturday, I shot my brand new .260A.I. On Sunday, I shot that "Electric Blue" Laminate Dasher.. My other Dasher stayed home.. Both rifles shot amazingly well. They held VERY tight verticals.

Re: 2015 Palo Alto Spring Regional- March 7 and 8, 2015

I will add the Texas state championship to my to-do list.....but can't be this year.....one week of vacation for the Bergers, two weeks for the Nationals.....got no vacation left! :)

PALO ALTO SPRING REGIONAL
MARCH 7 and 8, 2015
PALO ALTO RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB
DONALDSONVILLE, LOUISIANA

The Spring Regional is in the books. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rob Westfall, John LeBlanc and Jerry Boudreaux for helping with line duties all week. I also want to thank Mickey Brinkman, Glen Padgett, Robert Bose, Gary Henry, Dwight Hebert, Vaughn McDonald and Chip Noel for taking turns as Pit Bosses. Thanks to Joe Mistretta for helping Saturday morning.
Thanks to Tricia LeBlanc and Tammy Stewart for handling the statistics all weekend. Also, thanks to Shawn Delcambre for helping Saturday and Jolinda Daugherty for helping on Sunday.

We had a full complement of 60 shooters and I think everyone got their monies’ worth this weekend with another nail biter. Folks came from as far away as Missouri, West Texas and Florida, as well as Mississippi, Houston area and Mississippi.

The winds on Saturday started out blowing before the first round was fired and temperatures were around 32. Climbing into the upper 40’s by the end of Day 1.
Sunday saw calm winds for the first couple of groups with a pick up as the day progressed. Starting temperatures climbed into the low 60’s by the end of the day.

During the course of the weekend 25-200’s were shot, but that didn’t necessarily guarantee a win.

Prone side saw 12 shooters and at the end of Day 1 saw Kenny Porter with a 2 shot lead over Warren Freeman. Kenny never let up and in the end took the Gold Medal with a 1196-67X. Gary Henry took the Gold with a 1186-65X and Bill Jenkins took Bronze with 1186-58X.
1st High Master was Stacey Tamulinas with a 1184-70X. Harold Sightler was 1st Master with a 1173-39X and David Bay was 2nd Master with a 1165-45X.

On the FTR side there were 24 shooters. Jade Delcambre took an early lead and never let go posting a new 1200 point Range Record of 1193-64X to take the Gold Medal. Tony Arcement shooting a .223 took Silver with a 1182-58X and Shawn Broussard took Bronze with 1180-46X. Shawn also built Jade’s rifle.
1st High Master was Craig Martin with a 1178-50X and Donald Diffey was 2nd High Master with a 1171-49X.
Dan Meek was 1st Master with a 1167-30X and Vaughn McDonald was 1st Expert/SS/Marksman with a 1150-21X.

The Open group also had 24 shooters and it was a battle between Ben Steinsholt and David Decereaux from the start. AT the end of Day 1, Ben held a 2 point lead and on Sunday it was just as close with only 1 point separating the 2. In the end Ben won the Gold Medal with a 1197-72X and David took the Silver with a 1194-77X. James Laney was Bronze with a 1187-66X.
1st High Master was Jim Gleason with a 1182-61X and Marc Olivier was 2nd High Master with a 1181-58X.
Doug Gary was 1st Master with a 1170-37X.

Our next big match is the Champions de la Louisianne (Louisiana Championship) in October. It is all but sold out.

I want to thank everyone for coming out.
Rick

Great match as usual Rick, y'all make it look easy but i know the time and effort you guys put in to make it happen and run smooth as butter. Thanks again for everything, it was really a great match with good friends. The rain holding off was nice as well!

Congrats to everyone who shot well. Look forward to seeing all you guys again.

Hey Barry! We missed you out there! On Saturday, I shot my brand new .260A.I. On Sunday, I shot that "Electric Blue" Laminate Dasher.. My other Dasher stayed home.. Both rifles shot amazingly well. They held VERY tight verticals.

Congrats on the win Ben, you shot lights out. When you shoot with Decareaux you have to bring your A+ game as he is always SOLID!!!!!!!! Great shooting buddy!

For those who don't know, he dropped 7 points all weekend. That's salty!

Thanks Dean, it was one of those weekends where the stars aligned.....lol.....If it wasn't for you and the other good friends i've met over the last couple years that helped me with load development, bipods, etc. i wouldn't have shot the scores i did......Thanks again my friend!...... ;) :)

Yes Jade, David is not going to hand over a win to anybody, you have to take it from him and that will be extremely difficult. I met David 2 years ago a the TSRA Mid-Range at Bayou. He is an EXCELLENT shot and a super nice guy to boot. By the way>>> You shot so well that I commented to Don Diffey and Omar Alonzo that if you ever went to Open, that would be a HUGE game changer as we would all be chasing you! Great shooting my friend! The score you shot in F-T/R is "off the scale great"!

Yeah Ben, Jade was on his A+ game last weekend as were you sir. Great shoot out between you and Decareaux. I had to scold him for letting my title go back to Texas. LOL.
You did in fact earn every stripe in the ribbon my friend and as you can see, at Palo Alto, those ribbons are pretty hard to come by. It's why IMMIKE refers to it as "The Hornets Nest". You are now officially a fellow Hornet. <Grin>
Great shooting Ben, Jade and Kenny.

I would like to also point out my friend Tony Arcemont. I was complaining about the wind blowing my big ol .308 bullet around all weekend and then I had to just sort of shut up when I realized that my friend Tony was laying down right next to me, winning F/TR silver shooting a .223.
Whew! Good shooting as well Mr. Arcemont.
