attack of the clones!! i liked the first build so much that I "cloned" another one! it's identical in every way. now i can double the pleasure, double the fun. so far the original shoots a bit better than the clone but more rounds through #2 may see that change. time will tell

Couple of Dashers and an Anschutz 54.30 BR for fun. The Anschutz is good practice in trigger pulling. It's amazing what you can learn from a rifle that is as sensitive as this one.

I picked up an Anschutz 54 from a great fella here on the forum. It came with an extra, rough duplicated stock. The stock was kind of similar to the old Anschutz prone stock, but had a really high comb and was larger in overall size. Snice I have two young kids and a busy job, I needed a long term project (like I needed another hole in my head). But I wanted a good smallbore gun that resembled my prone rifles. So I did the following....

Reshape the stock
Cut the butt and fore end to length
Final inletting on action, barrel channel and hand stop rail
Installed pillars and glass bedded it
Shaped the cheek piece to my face
Cut the comb off and installed McMillan hardware

All the inletting and shaping was done with hand tools. Used my buddy's woodworking shop to build a fixture to cut the butt, fore end and cheek piece. FYI, you can use a table saw to create and adjustable cheek piece. You just gotta go slow.

After all the work, the rifle has proven to be a shooter.

This is a 6PPC Hunter. A slightly improved version of the 6PPC with the shoulder moved forward .030 It placed top 20 in every category of the 2015 Kelbly shoot. Not bad for a rifle made from spare parts and had not et had but one day to do load development.
More photos at www.premieraccuracy.com and there wallpaper sized versions available there too.

Here are the two uppers I built and the rests I shoot them off of which I also built. The top one is a X-caliber in 20 Practical, 24 in, 1-11 twist, the bottom one is a WOA in 223, 20 in, 1-12 twist. They both shoot 1/2 MOA or better. Both stocks are laminated Maple and Walnut. I reversed the order of the two woods to tell them apart.IMG_0294.JPGIMG_0293.JPG
