Not sure how to respond.

I ALWAYS quote a sell price that includes shipping. Of course I raise the 'in my mind sell price' to cover what I hope the shipping will be. And then I eat the difference. I sent a pneumatic pump motor for a shotgun reloader (Spolar) to a guy once. I quoted what it cost to send it to me. I did not know the original shippers had a serious 'account discount' for volume shipping, so I ate about $65.00 on that one. But as stated....a deal is a deal and it's a contract to me.

That is some nerve to ask for the additional five bucks.

I would counter with this offer. I would say at the increased shipping cost I'm not interested in the deal. If he would return my purchase price, plus the shipping cost (minus that extra five bucks of course...no sense being unreasonable) AND return shipping cost I would send the item back to him.

Soon as the check cleared I would ship it back to him.

You need to standup and tell the whiner to pound sand. We've all lost money on shipping when something didn't fit into a usps flat rate box as planned.
Worrying about a neg feedback? I recall an ebay purchase, seller hounded me for feedback, of coarse he wouldn't give till received, I gave him a neg and laughed myself to sleep.

I sold a antique radio from a truck. It was about 12 inches square and heavy. I put a price on it that included shipping. When it sold I lost a couple of bucks. I shipped the radio and sent the guy a note. You guessed it I lost money but WTH it went to a good home not the dump lol. That made me laugh.

Amazing how riled this bunch can get over a $5 matter of principle.

This particular seller didn't ship from:

1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20500

did he?

IMHO you have responded.... You've chosen to post on the subject and allowed all comers to comment on the matter. If the matter can't be cleared up between the parties over the phone, post a negative feedback with your reason why. I read feedbacks and it DOES play into buying or selling to someone.

o_O:rolleyes::oops::eek::D:p:cool::confused::mad::(;):)
I am not sure how to respond to THIS question.

Guesses !?

Unless he stated "buyer pays actual shipping cost", there's no reason to give hI'm anything additional. He agreed to $15 for shipping so that's all he should get. Period. I wouldn't even respond. Your item is in the mail and you paid him what he asked so the deal is done.

I've eaten extra shipping charges more than once when selling items because I underestimated the cost. Never even mentioned it to the buyer, just ate it.

I understand this isnt about the money. It's about the principal of the matter.
