Norma 6Dasher Brass

I think limiting the amount initially is a great idea. I would assume the limit may be 1000 as with the 284 Win brass, there was a discount for purchasing 1000 compared to 100. If there is a price discount for purchasing 1000, is anyone interested in going in with me on 1000 and splitting the order? I think 500 would be the perfect amount for me initially.

Thanks,
Joe

Look at that neck! Oh so nice.

I'd think 250-case max order to start. 1,000 per will make just 50 or so people happy, 250 per will make at least 200 people happy.

Between the F-Classers, Benchresters and now the PRSguys, too, the demand will be great.

FYI, I have JGS make piloted neck reamers. I buy mostly tight neck reamers and use the neck reamer to open neck to a no turn if requested. So no need to run out and buy new reamers, just order a neck reamer in your diameter of choice and put the correct neck length in your chamber. The freebore will not change so the bullet pressure ring to donut relationship will be the same.

You sure when you lengthen the neck its not gonna cut into the freebore and maybe even the leade?

I wonder how well these will form into BRX rounds? Last batch of Norma formed anywhere from 1.532 to 1.558 I can't wait!

I think Shiraz indicated .291 neck earlier, so you're looking at a likely length of 1.605 based on the print drawing.

You guys are good!

The overall length on Norma's print shows 40.75mm = 1.604".

It is Norma's print and I am not at a liberty to share it with the world right now.

We have ordered the reamers for this new brass and the Model Number on that is T10902. It is made by Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool and Gauge and we will have these in stock probably before the brass shows up.

This reamer will have an overall length of 1.605" so you guys can trim to suit. Dave has indicated that this reamer will be exclusive to us so you can simply contact www.bullets.com. If you call them, they will refer to us. The model number above should be live on our site by the end of the day, and the reamer is called "6mm Dasher Norma"

Thanks.

Dave is going to send me the reamer print in a couple of hours. As soon as I have it I will post it, plus it will be on the bullets site together with that model number.

He is really excited about this as he has been getting dozens of calls from guys getting prepped up. He had already run the blanks and was waiting for me to finalize, so that is why the delivery of the reamers will be fast.

Thinking you must have the final brass dimensions since your going ahead with reamer production. If so, could you tell us these brass dimensions:
  • Base/web diameter
  • @ shoulder
  • Neck-wall thickness
Myself, I would need to know these brass specifications before ordering a reamer or spec'ing a reamer. As well as die specifications to be considered from those brass specifications as well.

Thanks
Donovan

  • Base/web diameter .4704"
  • @ shoulder .4578" (right at the shoulder)
  • Neck-wall thickness .0133"
  • Measurement at .200 from base = .4685" (corrected)
