Hi All,
I am a new 6MM BR owner.
I purchased the rifle for some local 300-600 yard competitions. the 300 yd range is already built and the club wants to do an extension out to 600 yards in the very near future.
My rifle is a Savage F-Class 6MM BR 1-8 twist 30" barrel.
I would like to shoot some 68 gr bullets in the 2-300yd matches. My question is have you had good accuracy with the 68 grain bullets in the 1-8 twist barrels. I have read that a fast twist can still shot a light grain bullet very well. I would like to hear from you if you have shot with 68 gr in a 8 twist barrel. Any suggestions?
( I may be able to get some old 68 gr Estes bullets?? were thes good shooting bullets??)
I am thinking I will try the 95 grain Sierra Tipped Match Kings in any matches 400-600 yards. Possibly I will move up to the 107 gr Match Kings?
I will be using Laupa 6MM BR brass. Redding competition seating die and Type S bushing FL sizing Die.
I have been reloading for appx 5 years now. (223 rem & 204 Ruger)
As I am new to the 6MM BR any words of wisdom are Appreciated.
Thanks,
FoxGuy
