New Speer 'Deep Curl' bullet

For what it is worth, I have shot the deep curl 80 grain .243 bullet in my Sako Forester with excellant results accuracy wise using Varget powder (5 shots in 3/4 @ 100yds.). I assume the 90 grain bullets should have similar accuracy. I belive these bullets are basically a Fusion bullet with a coating on them. If so, they should perform very well on game animals.

jon,
When were you @ the speer plant? I work there. Many of the machinists and Electricians are my friends.

I take it by Speer "Site", Jon is referring to the website. Sounds pretty neat to work at Speer. You must have quite a bullet collection!

Terry,
No there not the same, if you look at the base of the bullets you will knotice the deep curl is concaved and the fusions aren't that is just one difference, there are several more that isn't visual.

Timeout,
I figured that out just took me a bit, Jon and I are good friends and I thought he has been in Lewiston Idaho and I had missed him that's all.
No I don't use Speer bullets much except to FF brass because I get them cheap, I wished we did make a true competition bullet. For moderate hunting ranges I wouldn't hesitate using spear bullets I just don't ::)

tnhunter,
Why did you put this old thread back on top? just curious.
Wayne.
I’m interested in the results people are having with these bullets. Instead of starting a new post I just bumped this one.

tnhunter,
I understand,..I don't think there even on the streets yet so I doubt you will get much feedback but I have seen what they look like after they have been pulled from the ballistic jel and they performed quite well, I don't do the actual testing just saw some spent bullets on a supervisors desk that's all.
Wayne.
