New RCBS scale coming at some point

Yeah I'll probably wait for reviews as well. Plus RCBS usually puts out some good sales and rebates on their products every year.

I’m not going to get to excited to drop $800 bucks on a plastic scale just quite yet. Blue tooth or not.

With practice, it's not too hard to quickly weigh out charges manually to the nearest kernel using a digital scale with decent accuracy.

Welp, Amazon had it for $840 when it was up for a few minutes a few weeks ago. For the price and performance, it’s definitely not an AutoTrickler killer.

If these times are accurate, I'm pretty competitive hand weighing against most of them. Of course, I can't compete with the Harrell's or the Prometheus. Anyone got measured times for the new RCBS scale? Chart with times is at 2:30.

I'll stick with my CM1500 and fine tune with my GemPro250 . I saw a Gem20 that works to the .01 for $ 30.00 .More then one way to skin a cat .

I hope that the new RCBS scales is what they claim.

But just because they apply a tolerance to them doesn't mean they will perform. I can buy a supposed lab grade scale from a Chinese manufacturer, doesn't mean that it will perform the same as the AND or the Sartorius. You get what you pay for.

And most wouldnt be able to shoot the difference on the powder charges weighed between the two types of scales if there was any difference at all.

If there was a change in accuracy with a miniscule difference in charge weight, then the rifle is WAY out of tune

Its not the difference when they are set up, it is the number of things that can cause them to drift. Strain gauges are very sensitive to environmental and electrical. Strain are also prone to drift as they are constantly comparing one reading against the last.

They just take a lot more attention to hold and produce constant readings.

I think it also falls under the “for the price it should be...” situation. For an MSRP of $900 (but obviously less in the real when when it’s released) you would expect a mag scale and not a strain. maybe I’m alone on this but any dispenser or scale over the $500ish mark is usually expected to be a mag scale. Will their new scale still work great, probably but like @Papa Charlie said it just needs more babysitting and will always have a degree of what ifs associated with it compared to a mag scale. That’s all.

I would guess they are importing them for about $80 cost. The cost on the 1500 is about 60 bucks.

When I first seen this I was thinking a new "standalone" scale but after going back over the original picture and now the vid it is clearly a new version Chargemaster. I'm using the Chargemaster lite along with my FX120i scale and it's working great. RCBS better invested in decent internals or it's just another scale!
And why Bluetooth? I don't need to make calls from my reloading scale??

Looking forward to hearing real-world reviews on this new scale. It is nice that the entire weighing/powder dispensing system is all in a single unit with a relatively small footprint.

I’ll stick with my CM1500. I don’t think my shooting is up to the accuracy potential of anything more precise, at the moment. I may be oversimplifying here, but isn’t the CM1500 just fine for anyone shooting under 1K yards? I don’t know if I’ll EVER have the opportunity to shoot at 1k or beyond. (Sad to say) lol

Oh well, so much for that. An MFR balance would have made the unit quite interesting, but the price would have been over $1k.

Thankfully, the V3-outfitted FX-120 works extremely well.
