RCBS scale question

Hello all. I have an RCBS electronic scale that I've been using for several years. It was made by PACT, but it done up in RCBS green. Lately, when using the "tare" function, my display screen has taken to flashing, and the scale seems to have difficulty settling on the charge weight, because of this. The display flashes between "tare", and the weight screen without ever settling on a weight. I've checked the scale against my balance beam scale, and everything seems correct, but I'm concerned about the scale seemingly hunting for the charge weight. Is it time to replace my scale? It seems to work okay at start up, them get silly when it warms up.

ETA: OMG!!! I've been on the boards for over a year, and this is only my second post! How'd that happen?

I have a Pact scale, and when it does as you mention, it needs to be calibrated with the supplied weights.

It sounds like one of two things is going on to me. 1. Your load cell is going bad. Or 2. you are getting some interferance from something. Do you have your cell phone on and around your scale when this happens. I did once and my scale was doing the same exact thing your is doing. Fluorescent lights and cordless phones can also interfer with your scale.

I do use fluorescents in my reloading room. I'll try arranging alternate lighting and see what happens. Radio waves are tougher to deal with, we have wireless everything, phones, computer, TV remotes, you get the idea.

i have the rcbs chargemaster, less than 2 years old, and the numbers could not be entered accurately. called rcbs who said this was a problem and is sending a new one. call took less than 3 minutes. be sure to use a ups to stabilize the power and do not expect anything electronic to have a long lifespan. and yes i would buy it again.
