New 22BR and 90VLD's

Once the clean bbl settled down this morning, 198-7X in the Wimbledon. After it settled, elevation was waterline. Dropped the nines in the first string, clean the bottom with the 7 X's.

Rich,

Good to see that it is working! Should be great at 600 yards with the 75's!

If you get 22BR working with the 90's, it will be very sweet at 1K. There were some guys that I was squadded with, the rifle had less wind. Only a quarter to a half, but still inside. I don't think that a click difference amounts to much, but still it is a nice feeling. Plus the lower amount of recoil helps in maintaining a good position.

Froggie, i haven't got back to the .22 Br. but been busy playing with 6Br" new toy"...
thoughts on N160
Well.. i've not ever used any of the V V's as yet... but here is one to think on.. i've been stuck on varget for a long time.. good or bad.. works for me !
i shoot with a fella who does use that powder,s.. we get to practice together usually right around this time... warm to hot conditions
same range, time an calibers on occasions.. we do 2 matches together up in Pa., an get there a day or so early to practice at their range.
i don't remember a time an its been 5yrs. that he hasn't commented that he has to do bring- ups, "clicks on both his scope''.. usually as much as 6+ clicks... now i don't.. i'm still dead on poi... blaming altitude, weather, the sun is high, to much cloud cover you name it... i think its powder
just a thought

Thanks Froggy for starting this thread. I just built my first 223 8 twist a month ago and love it. I have shot 80 sierra's, 80 A-max's and just shot some 77 sierra's to day. I have been using a 600yd reduced target at 300 for work. The barrel is a used barrel that I set back. It is so much different than the 12 twist barrels with light bullets that I have shot in the past, no comparison. My plan was a practice gun for 600yd F class matches but it may be moved to the top. Thanks again!

Rich,

I feel that the lighter bullets, Varget seems to work great as is when I was using the 75 Amaxes. But the 90's, I feel that Varget seems to be to fast of a powder.
wapiti25,

You are so welcome sir. I am glad that it help you greatly. I know that it helped me tremendously.

Randy

yes i had that same idea about varget in my .22Br an why i haven't got it shooting as well i as i would like it to with 80gr bullets..
75's did a slight bit better, that will be my next thing to work on with the .22 br a slower powder... or 70gr bullets ?

i was just adding.. 'thoughts'.. on the N160... not that you should try or use varget.. lol's

Got it, must have missed read it Rich. With from what I understand, N160 might be a lil easier on the throat than H4350. I am thinking this I think more so when I either do another one or when I set this bbl back.

Thanks...
hard to come by here.. i have few... of the norms 205 fed, 7.5 Rem, 400cci, 450 cci.

like most if things don't open up soon i'll e out.... :(

That is kinda the path that I was thinking, but the conservative side of me wanted to if some others might could confirm that for me.
