Love for the 308

Love .308. I built this last year. I had run out of Varget and was trying Norma 203b. I still have more work to do with it.
Win-748 is a great accurate powder for the 308win. I've used it as much as Varget,. however I use Varget for bolt rifles and 748 for semi-auto rifles.
4064 is another good option.
Hell... there must me at least 20+ powders that work great in the good ol 308win.

I have had several and filled my freezer several times with different 308 rifles. Currently have a precision 20" bolt gun and a m1a. Keep thinking about building a bolt gun for my kids and putting an AR10 upper together for myself.

Definitely helps the county sheriff use 308s in their precision rifles and leave once fired federal gold metal match brass on the range I use.

43.3 of IMR 4064 and 168 MK in that GM brass

Funny hearing the guys that started with a 308 then migrated to newer stuff then back to the 308. I am the opposite, I started witb a 270, always wondered why anyone would shoot a 308 when they can shoot an 06… then I found a really, really good deal on a 308. Varget works on a 308? Got some, how much? Looked in a nosler manual, the middle charge weight, well under max was listed as most accurate. So I loaded some and went out and shot it. First to the pistol rang to verify its on paper(new rifle, new boresighted scope) one shot hit dead center the 1” orange target dot, nice! Head to 100, a few shots to zero, then I headed to 200. I had only a handful of rounds fired, and hadnt shot a group yet so Ishot 3 rounds at 200 and low and behold they all went onto one hole at 200. It was not very hard to like the round and the rifle, everything was just easy with it. Every bullet I have ever tried has shot more than adequate for deer hunting for my needs with very little effort

I guess I am the odd man out here. I have owned a couple and have never had any success with them. Maybe it was just my ability to shoot and tune a load, showing itself. As of now, I am 308less and don't plan on having another.
I have an old 700 Rem ADL in 270 upgraded to a 30-06 and that sucker will shoot.

Have a safe full of 308 Win rifles, both gas and stick shift, the rear lugged 308 M1 with an Obermeyer barrel built by the late Don McCoy is still my favorite. Never cleaned 600 with it, came close a few times. It still loves the old M852s.
