Well, if you don't mind a long action get a 30-06Love for the 308? I would love it if my 308s would shoot about 250 FPS faster than they do now.
I have 4 308s. They would be among the last guns I’d sell. Great cartridge.
Oops! 5. I forgot the Browning BAR.
I have to admit a love for the 6.5x55, tho. Kind of the “old European 308”.
Or neck it down to 7mm… lolLove for the 308? I would love it if my 308s would shoot about 250 FPS faster than they do now.
That's the problem with the 308, (case capacity) I went with an 8MM Mauser for my scout rifle because I wanted just a tad more punch in a 21" barrel.Well, if you don't mind a long action get a 30-06![]()
Cool rifles! I strongly suggest ensuring you don’t shoot that MDT with bare skin on the carbon fiber. Carbon splinters are VERY painful.Got this years hunting season covered. Over the years, I have had gun project after gun project. I’ve tried everything from 7.82 Warbird, 300 Weatherby, 7 MAG, 6.5 Creedmoor, Sherman 6.5 SST and on and on. Years ago, I stated out with the plain vanilla 308 WIN. Talk about the circle of life. I have hit the easy button and I really don’t see myself wanting for more!
I absolutely LOVE both of these rifles. The Borden Mountaineer basesd bolt gun is super accurate and makes 1st round hits on 6” plates out to 400 yards. The Socom is my pig gun. Up close and personal lead slinger. The SRO is always “ right there”. No effort. Just point and pull the trigger.
I really wasn’t looking for another 308 BUT, this rifle has always appealed to me but finding one has been almost impossible. I couldn’t say no when it fell into my lap. I LOVE it!
