Labradar, what's your thoughts?

Kind of new to the shooting sports and looking to buy a chronograph. Have several guns to shoot and load for, but one of my main concerns is how well the unit works with suppressed subsonic loads such as the 300 blackout.

I use my regular chronograph all the time and I WISH I HAD A LABRADAR instead.

For me it be worth every penny so I think I know what to get myself for my birthday !

I can not get mine to work with the 300BO suppressed. Have to go back to the old CED. It works great on everything else if set up right.

I have a MS V3 and a Labradar. The Magnetospeed has not left the case since I bought the Labradar. I loved the MS product...and still do. I prefer the Labradar for the ability to capture velocity and POI data on every shot. The Labradar is not without its quirks but some simple setting adjustments solves the issues for the calibers I currently shoot. It is not a reliable tool for use in light calibers. I do own several small caliber/high velocity chamberings but have not any need to chrono them as of late. The Magnetospeed can capture velocity on light calibers; for that reason, I choose to keep the MS.

Has anyone tried the external microphone when shooting suppressed subsonic rounds, I think labradar calls it a air gun microphone. Thanks for all of your responses. Still undecided.

Highest sensitivity, place the labradar forward of the muzzle, and it picks up suppressed 300bo for me.

I wonder if Doppler mode would work any better?

I take the opposite side. I do NOT load all that much, so my good old fashioned F1 works fine. IF I shot more, developed more and needed to check and recheck I would look at it. But once every month or so, not feasible money wise to me.

Yes, it does. Suppressed stuff I always use doppler and have much better success.

I have one I bought in Dec. before I left Phoenix, and if this dam snow would stop, I might have a chance to try it out!

I'm still using the latest version of Magnetospeed and haven't seen any advantage in spending that much more money for the same information. YMMV
I'm with you. I have a 35P and all I use it for is to get to a know node when changing powder lots. I spent my money on something more useful. Got rid of my BS Annealer and got myself a AMP unit. Best 1100 bucks I ever spent.

This is my experience also. The muzzle beside the radar does not work when suppressed. The labradar needs to be 6-12" in front of the muzzle (and slightly to the side, doh).

Yeah, I keep mine in a cabinet in the garage, was curios if cold would bother its function but from your post sounds like that's not a problem. I am anxious to try my unit out, i bought the extra battery pack, but made my own base plate and mount system.
