Savage Axis XP 300 AAC

Was thinking about some suppressed subsonic projects. My thought was to chamber up a new fast twist 30 BR BBL and try figure out the whole subsonic load thing. Then I see that I can buy a NEW SCOPED Savage Axis 300 AAC Blackout for under $300.00

Anyone ever buy/shoot one? How are they, accuracy wise. I HATE my only Savage, but it sure is a good shooter, as are most out of the box Savages!!!!

i dont have the blackout but i purchased a new axis in 223 and picked up a n extra 243 barrel. their is a guy on Ebay that sells bolt lift kits for them and also put in the target spring in the accu trigger both barrels shoot .5 moa or better.
it isnt going to win any matches but makes a nice truck gun or something to do at the range while barrels cool

That is what i was thinking....the AAC comes with a 16 1/2 inch tube. Add a few more for the suppressor and it would make a great truck gun!!

I picked up one recently and it is surprisingly accurate despite the stiff trigger. (The one I have doesn't have the accutigger.)

No ties with the company, but MCarbo makes a trigger kit to lighten the axis trigger, for around $20.00 plus shipping that works really well.

Thanks guys. I ended up putting an order in today. What the hell...it's cheep. Looks like there is subsonic 300 AAC blackout ammo out there to buy.
