Keeping Primers Dry

That would be a compact way to store the 8 pounders then.

So would placing them on a shelf, which is what I do. Powder is already in a waterproof bottle.

Weak point (short term) is the seal under the lid (they usually use foam, and don't always tighten them very well.) I'd think replacing the foam with something like rubber sheet would increase the vapor resistance for high humidity storage.

Long term would be the steel cap (though I think most have gone to, or are going to, plastic caps.)

I'd be more worried about temp swings than moisture for sealed powder cans.
