How Many Patches Used When Cleaning Your Rifle?

Varies with the powder. The anti-coppering powders seem very sooty and that appears(?) to form a layer between the bullet and barrel to minimize stripping the jacket. The cleaner burning powders (less soot) seem to result in more jacket material being stripped and thus more copper cleaning agents being used.

Are these the boresmith brand triangle patches??
Hello Dave , To be honest it was a while ago that I read about the triangular patches but I think it was the "Boresmith" patches. I am still using my stock of round patches I bought these before understanding just how important the patch can be in the cleaning process. I do use a bore guide and a Bore Tech rod for both Rifle and Pistol. As a "newbie" I like the "Proof-Positive" system I feel in touch with my cleaning process. I did purchase a bore scope but have yet to use it as life gets in the way of shooting. LOL
