How Many Patches Used When Cleaning Your Rifle?

About half of what the average guy is using since I started using lock ease . My newer barrels clean up in three or four patches, not counting the two for accelerator and patch out. I shoot prairie dogs, so lots of cleaning has been eliminated using the lock ease. Your still gonna get dark patches, but there's no fouling in it

Punch cut cheap dish towels. I buy them at the local farm store in a bundle/package.
I actually know a guy that uses the blue shop towels in a slotted jag..
He will wear your ass out on the line for score no question.
I'll keep Flippin patches, he'll keep using shop towels and the world keeps spinnin outta control.
Where's my beer?

I have substituted the blue shop towels for toilet paper. They work very well. Most paper towels are just a little hard. WH

I started this 150 rounds ago. I saw a big difference yesterday's cleaning.

Bro i fell into the bore guide thing to protect the end of the barrel. Dose it help at my level of shooting? Well honestly I can not tell you but the jag dosent drag on the riffling. I think this is a good thing.
A good bore guide also seals the chamber so all of the cleaning solvent goes down the barrel and not the action.

Do you guys buy into the "Triangular patch" game? As i see it fitting the Jag is most important but I am a newbie.
I use the triangle patches a lot and really like(d) them. I just opened a new package and it came with a note that stated they can no longer get the high quality cotton that they have been using. Now they are using Chinese cotton and the quality is not even close. I won't be buying more.

CORRECTION. I just cleaned two 6 dasher rifles last night and perhaps I used more than the normal amount of patches because I put a little Iosso through both. I ended up using a total of 49 patches.

Thats a damn shame. I havent tried the triangle shaped patches. But I was considering them...not anymore!
