Hornady One Shot Case Lube Reports

How do you guys clean your dies? What do you use? I'm still getting issues ( previously post on a thread I started on the case wrinkling.) The issue is where the main body of the case ends and starts to taper to the shoulder. Note: I've never cleaned my .243 die with anything, just sprayed it with RCBS lube. Always had good results. Vent hole is clear.. Not trying to hijack thread. Thanks.
Brake cleaner. Any brand will do

I clean sizing dies with One shot cleaner/lube, when sizing with One shot case lube. I spray cases in a zip lock bag, shaking between a couple short sprays. I universal deprime and wash/dry brass first. I wipe off brass after sizing(clean dry rag). I haven't stuck a case/ no denting, but I do wear chemical resistant gloves. And spray and dry(cardboard flat) brass outside. For me the only downside is avoiding vapors, skin contact. Lip balm would probably be the safest lube.

Report, been using One Shot for many years and tens of thousands of cases in many calibers and never a stuck case. Most who do didn't follow the directions.

I used One Shot for years and never had a stuck case. I applied it while the case were standing upright in a Sinclair lube rack which tends to promote uniform distribution of the lube.

I stop using it several years ago, not because of performance issues, but because of the cost. I was alway running out of it or the can wouldn't fully empty.

I switched to Imperial Sizing Wax. This is great stuff but you have to careful applying it and not use too much. It's more time consuming to apply but a tin of that stuff last me for years and I love it. Besides the much lower costs, cases size easier and more uniformly. Once you become familar with using it, I think you'll like it. I least your reloading budget will like it. :)
I agree with you on the cost thing, those small spray cans got out of control for awhile. Now they have it in large spray cans and the cost is back closer to what it should be. Just last week I found and bought two large cans and they were only $17 each. One large can will almost last me a season of shooting.
There for awhile the small cans were close to $24 bucks each,... ouch!

I fully disassemble the die, go outside and blast it with brake cleaner. If your die has any brass streaks in it that can also cause sizing issues. Scratches on the brass mainly. If that happens I seal up the top of the die with a bolt that fits the threads. I flip it over, put a piece of tape over the hole in the body of the die and fill it full of bore tech copper remover and let it sit overnight. The next day I use a nylon bore brush on a drill and let her rip until its clean. I blast it out with brake cleaner again. I take a bore mop that fits snugly in the die and put a small amount of mothers mag and aluminum polish on the mop, chuck it in my drill and make a few passes back and forth in the die. Brake clean it out, verify cleanliness with some cotton patches and q tips. I only do that deep of a cleaning maybe once a year.

Eventually, the bushing and cavity of a bushing die will become mucked up with the One Shot lubricant. In my hands, acetone did not work at all to remove the residue, as I believe it is too polar a solvent for whatever the actual lubricant Hornady is using. However, mineral spirits worked just fine. I just soaked the bushing and die for a few minutes in it, then wiped everything out.

I work my brass in small lots. I switched to Hornady Unique and use my fingers to apply to the case. Slow i know, absolutely the best i've ever done. Gave the One Shot away with a caveat .

I use imperial on all my bottle neck cartridges. One Shot for pistol brass and the potato gun. It works great!

I've used One Shot since it first came out and have resized thousands of cases without a hitch. If it's not working for you your obviously doing something wrong. I have never sprayed it on multiple cases at once. I just put a pair of rubber gloves on, hold it by the bottom of the case and just press the nozzle hard enough to where it just dribbles out of the end of the red extension tube. I make sure I get the whole case covered. Works really well this way and you use less. I mean lets face facts. DJ probably resizes more cases in a year than most do in 10. If he makes his living working on brass and he highly recommends it you have to be a fool not to listen when he says it works.
