Here’s how the Red Flag scenario will happen.

A guy who walks around with his weapons visible seeing who’s going to infringe on the 2A. Technically, anyone who stops someone with a rifle and tells them to put it away is breaking a constitutional right. These guys who do that really push the limits. This video sums it up.

I’m all about 2A. I’m probably the most crazy on here about it, but I also respect people. I don’t want to turn someone off to firearms bc I’m walking around with my AR in the low ready lol!!
Thanks for the help a$$holes.
Im sure the officer could be on a valid call rather than debate class. Their right yes, behavior necessary? I dont support the fabricated situation.

The Policeman in the video deserves a promotion, the 3 jerks just proved that there are a lot of jerks with guns. They showed very poor judgement while trying to prove a point. Question for the LEO's, why didn't the Officer demand identification from the jerk carrying? To prove he wasn't a felon and had no business with a gun. Must be Oregon does not have a handgun law, or the police could have demanded to see a permit for the handgun. The Policeman showed great restraint, I'll bet his back was well covered, or else the whole thing was staged.

First and Second Amendment “audits” are a real thing, for several years, now. The cops, agencies and private businesses are by this time generally very prepared for them. YouTube has a category for them and indicates millions of views, of hundreds of them.

Just struggling to keep up - 11 pages - the subject of all this started as the "red flag" situation where potential menaces with firearms could be identified and neutralized but in reality this would evolve into social exclusion, punishment without real due process and petty pay back with negligible effects on firearm related tragedies. Now the subject has drifted into "open carry". For example, should I be in a large retail store and see open carry with a handgun - no problem - seen this frequently. Should I be in the same location and see open carry of an AR I would check and see if the weapon was bolt locked open and/or no magazine. Yes, I am aware of 2nd A stuff but should I observe an AR active my personal rules of engagement (as prescribed by law) would be initiated for an unequal response using my CCW (real terror but hopefully without paralysis). I would imagine any open carry opponent would be 1st to be executed (number one target). My LGS insists that all weapons entering the store have bolts open & no magazines.

Can law enforcement officers require ID be presented if they have not witnessed, nor have reason to believe, that a crime has been committed?

In a lot of states the answer is NO, just like they cannot if you are in this country ILLEGALLY. In a lot of cases even if they ask you, you are not required to show it. The biggest problem
is that a lot of law enforcement officers want to do their job but are hogtied by politicians.

I remember when we had open carry here. The OC guys decided to go to Sacramento and demonstrate their right to open carry. In less than a month the right was revoked. Nice going guys, now you cant have an exposed firearm in public.

So, fight for your rights instead of sheepishly submitting to the State.

Fighting the just fight and doing stupid shit are two different things. Open carry was a gift here, not a right. So easily removed by a single signature. I'm all for open carry but a little discretion would go a long way. Is it really necessary to sling an AR and hang out a the coffee shop at the same time a bunch of moms, that just picked up their 5 year olds from school, fill the place? I mean come on, that crap wins gun owners no support. 2A Right or not.

"Open Carry", should be like a moped; perfectly legal, but seldom used in public.

There is a big difference between wearing your gun in a small town hardware store, or a big city coffee shop. Visible carry just doesn't make sense in an environment where you KNOW it's gonna cause a stir. jd

Yep, thanks to the open carry abusers / activist, I now have to have any gun covered when not hunting or at the range, even when I move it the 15' from my home to my vehicle, thanks guys, great job getting in their face with our right to open carry.

Yup, the difference is the the people in small town hardware stores are not scared sheep. Scary times when soy boys and Starbucks drinking soccer moms dictate what’s appropriate and what isn’t.

I have watched a lot of audit videos in the last year. First Amendment and Second Amendment. My opinion is that most of the auditors derive satisfaction from attention they receive and from forcing their perspective on unprepared audiences. The underlying “right” involved in the audit is only a secondary consideration.

Open carry tards (OCT) are screwing gun owners just as much as scared soccer moms, that in many cases didn't have an opinion on guns until they were somewhere with their children and an OCT decided to grab some [negative] attention. Im for open carry when necessary, not to make a political or fashion statement. The few OCT people I had encountered in the past I believe were more interested in if their hand lotion was organic than bullet jump / jam.

I'm not a soy boy, kale muncher, tofu eating Starbucks drinker (hate the stuff) but I know what behavior is appropriate for the environment I am in.

Read my post in 199. I agree 100% but because of these soy boys, green haired SJWs, and soccer moms, these “2A” auditors get their rocks off from annoying people and being d*cks about it then actually using and needing the right.

I believe if the first group respected guns and gun rights, then we wouldn’t have these 2A auditors running around ruining it for the rest of us. We are in this vicious circle of people being scared and then others getting a thrill from further scaring them.

If the first group just left it alone, the second group wouldn’t have anything to get excited about. @davidjoe hit the nail on the head about the “auditors.”

A LEO friend posted this elsewhere, thought I would share:

I’m curious who Beto O’Rourke’s “we” are? Local LE Administrators won’t want any part of snatching up weapons from people who are not involved in any sort of actual crime. Federal LE won’t want any part of going house to house and engaging in any sort of forced take back. The military couldn’t be used due to the Posse Comitatus act forbidding them to be used on American soil.

This doesn’t even begin to touch on the fact that most LE employees, fed or municipal, want nothing to do with it and in fact, overwhelmingly support people’s right to bear arms.

Texas, take your imbecile back, please. I’m in California and have my own to deal with.
