Help using the Wheeler method for my RPR

I like using the Wheeler method for adjusting bullet seating depth and shoulder bump in my Rem 700s, but is anyone using that method with a Ruger Precision rifle? The strange bolt knob/firing pin association makes stripping the bolt to check fit seem impossible. Any tricks or tips would be appreciated. Thanks-

Without stripping the ejector plunger the depth measurements were quite variable in my hands; stripping the plunger each time was too much of a PIA. I did machine a recess/cut-out in the case head to 'bypass' the plunger and it helped. The mortised bolt handle did make it more challenging also. In the long run I abandoned that method and resorted back to the Stoney Point/Hornady device for that action.
