H4350 Where the H*** is it

Fellas. Don't ignore Ramshot Hunter.

Just be weary of the lot http://www.ramshot.com/consumer-alert/recall-notice/
I assume its still an issue as they still have a popup immediately when you visit their site.

"RECALL NOTICE
Powder Type: Ramshot Hunter
Lot Number: 489 bottled on 08/05/16, may appear as 080516489 (lot number on back of bottle)

If you have this lot number, please call:
1-800-497-1007 or 1-800-416-3006"

Im waiting for a hazmat free day when I can find some R16 or H4350 to use in the 6xc

I am really glad I looked on gunbroker to see what people are selling it for. One of the price gougers is a gun shop that I stop into from time to time while at camp. I will not step foot in that store again. I can understand an average Joe trying to make a buck on some surplus powder that is in high demand, but a gun store keeping a product off their shelf to try to rip someone off on gunbroker does not need my money.

I don't know about RL16; my sources tell me that the perfect substitute for 4350 is RL 17. I picked up 5 pounds last week and I'm going to do some research this weekend.

NO. What you want is Reloder SIXteen, RL16.

It is very accurate. Very temp stable, pretty clean, and some guys are seeing a small speed gain over H4350. RL 17 is a good powder but the one you want to replace H 4350 is RL 16.

If that's the case I'll save the RL17 for the 22-250 and pick up some RL16 this weekend.

Your Reloader powder still has a problem with temp swings. Is RE 16 and 17 less sensitive than other Reloader powders?

RL-16 and RL-23 are or are at least tested by Alliant to be VERY temp Insensitive. Right on the container it says "Stable at temp extremes"...

RL16 and RL17 are really very different -- different chemistrys. Reloder 16 is far more temp stable. However, RL17 can yield much-higher-than-average velocities in some cartridges -- you just need to keep temps in mind.
