I'm not trying to drum up business for anyone
I do not shoot F class
If the guys that do are happy with the accuracy they get with their Bullet of choice that's great.
I don't think John Whidden shoots the Amax
I agree. Buy enough bullets and powder to ware out your barrel same lot. Pray that your rifle likes that lot. If not sell them and try again. There are great barrels and tomato Sticks. Do not waste your bullets and powder on the bad ones. Then prep, prep and most of all spend time with a know caliber that will compete at desired range of shooting. Switching calibers alot will not allow you to truly learn how the conditions will effect the bullets path. Fear the man with one gun. And of course have fun!!!Tim
I shoot 600 & 1,000 BR. This year I have 6 custom and 6 factory bullets on the shelf this year. Great bullets will turn a 2" rifle into a 1.5" rifle at 600. The greatest frustration is with factory bullets. One lot shoots, the next is worthless. Most boxes contain a bullet or two that will ruin your day. Finding them before you shoot is critical.
That said you still need a great barrel.
Thomas is exactly right! I am one that likes to "tinker" with nearly every available cartridge. I can GUARANTEE you that that "personal flaw" has and will continue to cost me points and matches. If I were smart, and that is a BIG "IF", I would stay with 2 cartridges>>>1.) a 7 SAUM for long range and 2.) a .260A.I. for virtually everything else!I agree.
