First Look at the Ingenuity Precision Powder System

Why are you still commenting at me?

At first I’m being too mean about the IP and because of that I can’t afford it somehow and now I’m bitching, moaning about the SuperTrickler being a SuperFailure based on my experience. I can’t win. lol
Well, you did take somewhat of a hard line by calling the ST guy a liar.

A 3D printed opaque, breeze shield is not $95. That's a hard pass.

There are clear enclosures on the market that are readily available. This will likely be the route for me, personally.

I sent my thoughts to Paul: In the science world, it isn't by accident that analytical balances have a clear/transparent draft shield.
It's not just the breeze shield, it also includes the light. The way I understood him when I talked to him is he has not finalized what the exact design of the cover or what it's going to be made of. The light was added because people were asking for it. He did say the 3D printing he has used is not the standard 3D printing most are using, it's a high end and everything comes out smooth like it was molded. But he is looking at other options. Bottom line you have to buy what's right for you, the breeze shield off the A&D will work, the other two scales require a breeze shield.
I myself like clear, but there comes problems with molding clear acrylic like the ones he had. You can't vacuum mold them because it cause bubbles, they have to be hand molded which cost more to manufacture.

I do like the simplicity of the Ingenuity unit, had a couple of wrassling sessions with the V4, but, to be fair, I hadn't really delved into how it worked and what did what til those occurred, not being real computer literate doesn't help. The Super Trickler does a pile of stuff I don't need, and the owner answered a question I had in such a fashion, that I unfollowed it on FB, it was a business question, and he may have done himself out of some dealers with his answer. Had no more interest in ST after that. I'm in the hurry and wait mode on the Ingenuity and the Garmin at present, don't really need them, think they are a better product, but, have stuff that'll do the job good enough for now.

That's what I liked about the clear molded one seen in some of the videos with this IP, simple and clear. It's unfortunate he couldn't source it for a reasonable price. At least we have other options available to us on what we choose for the shield, either get the one he's offering or something from someone else. I can see the one with the doors being handy for those using it at the range but I have a dedicated room so that's way overkill.

Yeah he did. He said the AI worked giving fast drop times and that was a lie.
Well, opinions will differ on this

My opinion is that the AI does work but was way overhyped, and selective data presented. It led (some) guys to believe you just set it up and the AI runs the machine and you don't have to worry about anything, and that is clearly false, especially as regards super fast drop times, and accuracy.

I think Rex acted more along the lines of a developer with delusions of optimism rather than a bald faced liar.

has anyone seen a video where the dropper was chock full, calibration done, and then the dropper depleted down to the bottom by ongoing throws?

Since the powder forms a static column, I'm thinking the pressure above the valve will depend on the height of the column and affect the bulk drop. Not a deal breaker, I'm just wondering if that's an issue, because it was on the ST, and the problem was magnified b/c you couldn't see the level of the column inside that opaque housing.

[Can you guys see that those of us who have struggled with the AT/ST are paranoid as heck that we will get burned a third time?]

I think that’s a fair assessment

Yeah, this sums it up right there…our paranoia may come across as “bashing” or negative at times, but it really isnt. We want a great product that works as well as the advertised hype.

I can't speak to the ST, but my AT works perfectly with every powder I've used with it. Curious how you got burned by the AT.

There are many people who feel the atv4 was a step backwards from the v3. There were some issues with the small trickler tube, and the tilt of the unit has to be just right with different powders.
From what I understand the new code update improves the ATv4, but I no longer have one to try it.

What version of autotrickler do you have?

I have the V4, it's been perfect for me with several powders. But I also have the JustDreaming riser/base which has a thumb screw to quickly adjust the tilt. Changing powders and calibrating takes maybe a minute or two. The thumb screw makes it way simpler and should really be included with the V4 imo.

I recently started using it to throw really small charges for 300blk subsonic loads and was worried it wouldn't do it well. To my surprise, it threw 4.8gr of N320 accurately and consistently.
