First Look at the Ingenuity Precision Powder System

Only negative thing I have to say about the IP trickler is the disk trickler will get stuck sometimes. Past that it has performed as it was advertised.

I would love to hear your experience with the Ingenuity trickler. I havent heard any honest critique of it.
My experience is with the V3 and Ingenuity Trickler. Not the new IP coming out.

The Ingenuity Trickler is fast and accurate. It’s an excellent product. I didn’t care for the fact that it didn’t come with a stepper motor and had to take a motor off my V3 Trickler to get to work. Also had to buy an extra disc for N133. You’ll need to poke a hole in your lid for the drop tube, but once you’re set up it’s good to go. It can occasionally jam but not a big deal. I’d say it has the least overthrows and under-throws of anything on the market and overall has an edge on speed.

I travel everywhere with my reloading equipment and not crazy about all the assembly and disassemble when going to matches. Same thing with the V3 and its Trickler. The V4 was an improvement in this regard because it’s a single unit and only one plug to get it working.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. I prefer a single consolidated unit also. The V3 plus whatever trickler (at, or ip) still feels like I have to watch and feed two things rather than one. Maybe this new system will alleviate some of that.

I own and use dual ATV3+IP setups extensively, loading on a full automated progressive setup (with manual powder drop, obviously)... It is extremely fast and provides everything that you would expect. I do not use the AT app to throw powder, everything is programmed and done through the scale.

My goal owning the new droppers: get away from Adam's system.

What in particular are you trying to get away from?

I'm just looking for something that I can use without all the fiddling (and any non-user caused spillage), and that's more because the fiddling can turn into a rabbit hole really quick, and the point is to load rounds. This is especially true for me, the career I'm in leads itself to me liking the tinkering/fiddling so it's easy for me to get pulled down the rabbit hole.

This IP system should keep me on track and loading rounds. LOL. I'm really excited to get it and give it some work to do.

No, but come on. The post is about the New IP thrower not every bitch and moan you and @jthor ever had with the Super Trickler.
Why are you still commenting at me?

At first I’m being too mean about the IP and because of that I can’t afford it somehow and now I’m bitching, moaning about the SuperTrickler being a SuperFailure based on my experience. I can’t win. lol

Paul called me this afternoon regarding some questions I had regarding the breeze shield. I was originally looking for dimensions to possibly design my own, but probably wont worry about that now.
Things I learned:
1. According to Paul; the IP breeze shield doesn't need to be clear as the larger opening in his shield lets the user see all the way to the back of the platen.
2. The Area419 clear replacement top for the ATv3 should also work for the IP system.
3. The LED is only red/green and has to be somewhat low wattage based on the circuitry that was designed and I assume in production already. He said the light is not bright and in your eyes, and he may sell it independently of the breeze shield at some point. I could see this being a nice add on and would possibly let each person decide where they want to mount it, what direction it faces, etc.
4. It will be the same three discs that come with the trickler.
5. The disc names mean stuff to Paul, and he wants to stick to the current names to avoid confusion in changing them. I think a sharpie and/or a cheat sheet will help me keep them straight.

A 3D printed opaque, breeze shield is not $95. That's a hard pass.

There are clear enclosures on the market that are readily available. This will likely be the route for me, personally.

I sent my thoughts to Paul: In the science world, it isn't by accident that analytical balances have a clear/transparent draft shield.

Agreed. Hopefully JustDreaming can make or adapt one of his with sliding doors to the IP
