Feedback

@Dave Way put a post up about people making a commitment to purchase and then not following through, my question is about feedback, if I sell something and get paid I post (most of the time if I don't forget) right then, I'm not waiting on them to post their feedback when the package arrives, I feel like I have described the item accurately and am pretty sure I will receive appropriate feedback. So I guess what I'm asking is how do you feel about this? How do you post feedback? Have you ever had to "work" something out? I did once when a box shipped by USPS "broke" spilling some bullets out, the gentleman was gracious about it and I paid him back for whatever he said had been lost. This is what I expect to go both ways.

I am like you and typically post feedback upon receipt of payment. I will send them a message when I see the package has delivered and ask them to confirm everything was received as expected and to post feedback for me. If there is an issue, I want to get it resolved asap. I have not had any issues on either end yet. This site does a really good job at weeding out the bad.

You are absolutely correct that's absolutely the way it should be. But it's not always or most of the time. I do have to admit sometimes I do forget but I always try to post as soon as I get their money. This was a really big issue on fleabay for me. Once you've paid and the seller has received your money your obligation to the seller is over and that's what you should be getting feedback on. Then as the buyer once you receive the product and it's as described then he gets his feedback. Trust me I understand I do forget occasionally but that's how I try to do it.

I have about 4000 positive feedback on the "bay" from years past and it was always wait until the buyer gives you feedback then you post feedback for them, everyone played the game.

I guess I'm going against the wind here but I never left feedback until the deal, whether I am buyer or seller is complete.
I purchased a rifle from a member here once. The gun was totally misrepresented by the seller and the price paid was excessive for that fact. A discussion with the seller brought us to agreement where the seller was to refund an amount of cash that he himself had named. That seller never paid and has long since ghosted me. Yes, I know he's still on the forum regularly because he advertises a match he runs on his property.
I held feedback for quite a while in order to give him an opportunity to comply with terms he had suggested.
Finally, after seeing numerous negative feedback from other members pop up on his trader feedback I decided to add my negative feedback.
As for those who commit to buy and then ghost or back out, I have usually been understanding and never had issue selling something after that. I did have one member who agreed to buy then sent a PM with a sob story about his daughter in college needing some quick cash. A day later he bought a more expensive item from another member. He got negative feedback. He whined to the boss and even put negative feedback as a revenge on my feedback but boss saw through it a removed the negative from mine.
So, feedback at the end of the deal when everyone is satisfied!

I always leave it and don't care if I get it. I think of it as kind of a "Tip". Some people do, some don't......I over-tip........It's A Personal Problem.......Drives the Wife NUTS......

Regards
Rick

I tend to over-tip as well Rick. A few times my CC sent me an email or text asking if I meant to leave a XX% tip. Well my meal alone may have been $12 and a $2.50 tips is just over 20% but if I was served well by an engaging and attentive server I may leave as much as double that 20%.
