Like you said it's a crap shoot but here it's the opposite UPS can kiss my ass and FEDEX has been great!!

To each his own I guess. Built relationship with UPS driver, he knows me and my name. Wife makes cookies and leaves them for him. Never had an issue with UPS. At work, we use FedEx and service their shipping locations. Crap show if you ask me. UPS, service them to. Different world.
Right now I see FedEx using contract drivers, maybe that's the issue.

So i bought a barrel off a member here. He shipped it right away. I get a text saying its delivered so i go to my porch to grab it- not there. I look at the app it shows a delivery picture- not my house nor any i recognize. I put in a missing pkg claim, get an email saying they will contact me. Next day i get an email saying case closed, it was delivered and we have a picture. No way to respond with any comments. So i put in another claim. Next day exact same thing. So i guess if they deliver it theres nothing you can do if they have a picture of a random garage. Now im out a barrel and my money.

I would call again and ask to speak to a 'manager'. My experience is you'll get a more experienced team lead who will figure out a way to resolve the issue.

I was waiting on some drawer slides from Snap On which never came so I called. The lady assured me they had been delivered, and even gave me a tracking number.
When I checked the tracking sure enough they were delivered, but it was to an address in Texas. I'm in North Carolina.

Most FedEx home delivery drivers are contractors.
They are not employees of FedEx.

My preferred delivery company is UPS.
We get lots of deliveries and they seem to be the best. At least in our area.

Dusty - is there a street with a similar name nearby? A barrel of mine was once delivered to “Duck Creek” instead of “Deer Creek”. I was lucky because the homeowner took it upon himself to find & call me. Didn’t know the family.

I have delivered several packages sent to me that were for someone else blocks away. (Not even close or sorta similar )..baffling really.

No my street is a number. Not anything similar. Gps takes you to my mailbox no problem

Delivery driver quality at work here? Most are not FedEx employees they are private contractors using vehicles dressed up to make you think its being delivered by fed ex. In the end, I'm not sure it would make any difference....independent contractor vs. emplyee delivery.

My Step-dad always gave the garbage truck guys a quart of Jim Beam for Christmas. Our cans were the best looking on the block and placed upright. All the other cans were dented.

My wife puts out 3 bottles of Gatorade on the trash can. We never have to go out and get the trash can from the street.

Check for other houses/addresses with either the same last name as yours or same adress number but different road.

I can do it where I live in Erie county Pa. I go to county website for property taxes and I can search by partial address or last name.
Results pop up ,scroll thru.

Find out where your local FedEx hub is at and drive there. Talk to a local level manager and I bet you have better luck than dealing with the 1-800- corporate stuff.

After talking to many delivery employees I dont think I would like my job that much either, They are not treated well, Especially subcontract drivers.

I have not said it to them but in my mind, Get another job then

Sadly, you will never see that barrel. I had almost the same issue with Fedex about 5 years ago. The sender was able to get Fedex to tell him exactly where they delivered the package. He called me with the name and addresss of the business and, even though it was after hours, I called and left a voice message for them. The next day that business called to tell me their shipping /receiving man saw the error and they had given the package back to the Fedex driver that morning. I was assured it would be delivered that evening.
Well, three days later I cornered our Fedex delivery man about the package. He put me on the phone with his boss (all a group of contracted labor) who calmly told me that's why they offer insurance.
Oh, I did get a $100 refund from the seller.

Why should we pay for insurance to cover their ASS!
