FED EX what are the odds ?

So I walk out on the porch and see a small box there, pick it up and look at it....wrong name and address (same house number though). So I figured I'd just run it down to the right place. Knocked on the door a couple times..no answer. I looked down and there's a small box with my name on it...hmm. I pick it up and head home. Good thing I picked it up as it was my medicine I had been looking for. Gotta love FED EX.

We live in a 55+ community in Florida during the winter. There are about 200 units that are a mix of RV's and very small, <400 sq. ft. manufactured homes. Each has their own individual address and mailbox. FedEx, in their greater wisdom, has drivers or contractors who deliver to where their gps units say to deliver them. Does not matter there is a visible address for each unit here, if the gps says deliver the package a block down the street, that's where it gets delivered. Different street? No problem. Drop and photograph that it was delivered.

FEDX sells every route individually to contractors. Those contractors hire any warm body that qualifies for a drivers license. They, like everyone else needing employees, hire whatever they can get. Most of those are dedicated to their phones for everything including GPS of course. When that little voice says 'Your destination is on your left (right)' they stop and throw the package out. The deliveries are timed by the supervisor or owner like a test.

Our route in southern Georgia was listed as rural. Our then driver would pull into our drive and sit smoking a joint until we came out to get our delivery. We unloaded his van. Complain? Sure. Response: You get what I can hire legally.

We switched everything over to UPS.

:(

Ordered a bed mat for truck. Got an alert I have delivery. Nothing, few days later neighbor I don't know who lives 1 mile away came to house and said, is this yours? I have seen it by a tree for 3 days. FedEx.....now they require a pic to be sent when delivered????

Ups never had an issue. But small town.. wife leaves cookie for him!

Never do I want FedEx to ship anything to me, or use them to ship anything.

FedEx in my areas is terrible. If any other options are available for shipping, I always take it. My UPS driver knows me by name and jokes with me when he delivers powder or primers because of the explosives sticker. That being said USPS is always my first choice.

This seems to vary in different areas. USPS is horrible in my town. People here go to the mailbox, take the mail in the box, and hand deliver it to the proper address. Then you wait and hope a neighbor delivers your mail to you. Complaining to the local postmaster is a waste of time. UPS and FedEx are the best choices. As the saying goes, YMMV.

I get really big boxes and sometimes rather heavy boxes, UPS regular driver backs up to the side yard gate if I dont respond right away he opens the gate and delivers, if it is raining or likely to rain he delivers to the covered porch, FedX on the other hand I am baffled when it is RAINING they deliver before the porch regardless of the size or weight some times one box may make the porch when the pile tips over, 7000.00 in inventory left in the rain ?????? bright sunny days depending on the driver I may have to climb over the pile on the porch to get to the door, Sadly 2 more of my suppliers have switched to FedX they really must be giving them a deal
