Electric Cars -- anyone own one?

That number is so far off the other numbers are suspect.

There is currently a Keystone pipeline moving oil from Alberta to Illinois, Cushing OK and Texas. It was the phase IV that was not constructed.

I can assure You or anyone else the numbers are correct . I send all unverified numbers to a couple of Friends whom are Math Wizards . One of which keeps Texas afloat with ALL of their Gov. figures and they DON'T hire idiots !.

Last week I spent 5 days at an Airbnb - which was a normal house.

I charged the car off a 110V garage outlet no problem. It's slow as hell - but it didn't cause any issues with breakers.
A house next door to me is a rental. The owner screens for single young working males (no students or slackers). Usually five of them live there. Most of them work at high-tech jobs near here - Tesla, Panasonic etc. By and by one kid moved in with a Tesla. I notice he plugged his battery charger into an exterior 110v outlet every night. After a couple of months I text the landlord "Has the power bill recently spiked at your rental house?" Apparently he covers all the bills out of flat-rate rental fees received, because that Tesla was gone by the end of that month.

Attention You all must read this and figure out for yourselves what our government's climate policy

is all about ...why burden the US, who have the least amount of pollution..do you think that all the

countries of the world care what the US left politicians are doing, stop this horse s--t now.

Joe Biden put the USA back into the Paris Climate Accord and the USA will probably pay 70 % of the budget for that as well. The USA has about 0.25 % of the coal plants in the world. Politics as usual.

How many coal fired power plants are there in the world today?

Green New Deal??? Just look at this . . .

The EU has 468 - building 27 more... Total 495

Turkey has 56 - building 93 more... Total 149

South Africa has 79 - building 24 more... Total 103

India has 589 - building 446 more... Total 1035

Philippines has 19 - building 60 more... Total 79

South Korea has 58 - building 26 more... Total 84

Japan has 90 - building 45 more... Total 135

China has 2,363 - building 1,171 more... Total = 3,534

That’s 5,615 projected coal powered plants in just 8 countries.

USA has 15 - building 0 more...Total = 15

And democrap politicians with their "green new deal” want to brainwash us and shut down those 15 plants in order to "save” the planet. ?/ REALLY and just HOW IS THAT GOING TOO WORK ???.

This makes the point. Whatever the USA does or doesn’t do won’t make a Tinker’s Dam regarding CO2 unless the rest of the world, especially China and India, reduce their coal-fired power plants as well.

The whole “global warming” and “climate change” gambits by democraps are to create a *supposedly* sound, scientific basis to justify a federal government power-grab and the passage of MORE laws to increase taxes and increase control of the privately owned power industry and its distribution. Never forget the *main* motivation they have!

WAKE UP AMERICA ! We are being played ….. again !!!

I assure each and everyone of you ,these #'s are also correct do a little internet surfing and start verifying for yourselves .

There's one thing many people seem to forget about Science Gov. and Grants ,WHO PAYS FOR THE INFO !!!. Those of you unfamiliar with how our Gov. really works ,just need ask a Veteran and WE'LL TELL YOU !. , Those of us old enough to know; Know just how full of it they are !.

That may be but we are on the internet. I was surprised by the 34 million number, oil is typically discussed in barrels not gallons. I misread.

I expect to have an ICE vehicle for years to come but I am also interested in knowing more about electric vehicles.

Follow the money! These government usurpers cover their trail better than my limited tracking ability. Of course many politicians are bought off very cheaply with a little lobbying money for their reelection war chest.

Here's another ask yourself question : The jackass in the WH along with congressional idiots ,allocated $87 Billion to the Post Office ,Yep bail out $87 BILLION . With NO stipulation of electric vehicle upgrades !.
Does that strike any of you as being odd ?, what better vehicle emission and charging situation could one have ,than postal vehicles running urban routes ?. Makes 0 sense !!!.
Now I happen to know a crap load about USPS ,Wife worked inside and outside #32 years .

I learned back in early 90 ,that for every $0.01 in fuel cost increase ,USPS was set back $1.3 Million per DAY on their total fuel expenditures . Anyone care to do the math as average gas price in 1990 was $1.22 a gal.
So $2.82 cent increase as of today where I reside . So if MY math is correct

That Works out $366,600,000.00 or roughly $367 Million per day in the hole for Fuel and USPS isn't a candidate for electric urban vehicles ????????????. It smells like somebody stepped in what they're spewing over in the swamp !.

Guy I worked with bought a hybrid and has to pay the county an additional $100 every year when he renews his registration.

Hybrid and Plug-In Electric

After January 1, 2020:

  • Registration applications for a hybrid vehicle will be assessed an additional $100 fee per registration year.
  • Registration applications for an electric vehicle will be assessed an additional $200 fee per registration year.
The fee is charged when a qualifying vehicle is registered for the first time, and for all subsequent registration renewals.

Whats up with that? Guess it wouldn't matter if we all rode bicycles ,they will still come up with a way to fleece us.

I think it's probably an offset to the fuel tax that is not paid by an electric vehicle. But you're right, there is always another way to tax us.

As an offset, it's a bargain. That's less than what a 40 mpg car pays in gas tax at 12,000 miles per year

I believe I read where the USPS just ordered a fleet of gasoline vehicles.... If you've been reading this thread you should know that EV's don't save anything in the long run. The USPS may have better accountants than you think. Or. might have discovered the local grid couldn't handle the extra load.

I guess these boys didn’t get the memo.

....and how about all the cheers from the mainstream media when a rocket launches 4-5 of their friends into space for a ten minute joy ride. I wonder how big that carbon footprint is?
Saving the planet is only fed to the poor minions. How many political elites fly commercial to “save fuel”? I hear Nancy has a Private Jet?

Back on relevant electric vehicle info : MY SiL and husband purchased a New Audi electric , they reside in Sacramento kommyfornia . Recently took a trip to Crescent City and normal mileage one way would be 375-385 . Because of their electric range ,they had to detour nearly 90 miles and charge twice before reaching Crescent City , as well on the return home . So 180 miles additional with #1 full charge at home #2 additional charges to reach destination , Now returning required a charging station 80-85% ,with an additional charging at #2 charging stations . All of which requires additional TIME ,depending on available and working chargers . They have some app apparently on their phone which tells them where too go . I have an app I'd like to tell them where they could go , that's another matter !.

So to drive approximately 950 miles REAL MILES ,for a normally 770 mile round trip required #6 charges Plus the recharge when you get home . ( Forgot to include that $8.00 )

What I was unaware of until yesterday evening when she talked to the Wife ,that because of the charging route ,they had to stay #2 nights in a motel . Also found out #2 of the places they charged at ,normally charge $45.00 Per charge ,the other two normally would be $28.50 . Plus your home charge cost which she says runs $8.00-9. . So say 8 .

Because they bought an Audi and paid north of $80K ,they have a card for two years ,which negates them having to pay at charging facilities . MY point is ; that trip would have cost them $163.00 plus two additional nights in a motel and having stayed recently in a few motels , ISN'T inexpensive !. So conservatively lets round it up to $425.00 .
Again MY math puts that trip at $0.45 per mile ,with and additional #180 unnecessary miles and motel expenditures . The driving one way is normally 7 hr. or a tad less depending on traffic .

MY Diesel Truck at $4.75 a gal right now ,is running $0.32 a mile but FUEL will come down !.
Electricity is NEVER GOING TO COME DOWN !.
