If you been paying attention to the EV starting on fire after the hurricane in Florida?. I wait until they have the flux capacitor up and working.
Heck yeah! This country can’t invent anything, never hasBoring economics again. How tedious. But you're conveniently ignoring that lightweight batteries are just around the corner. They only need to be invented, and Bam!

The battery, as we know it has been around for over 200 years; or almost twice as long as the ICE. The combustion engine in it's lifetime has become orders of magnitude more powerful and efficient while becoming ever lighter in terms of HP/LB. Batteries haven't really kept up developmentally when you consider how much work they deliver for their weight. The future may indeed be electric, but automakers have given themselves eight years to advance a technology that's already over 220 years old to surpass a technology that's half that age and ten times more utilized. In other words, if we just give batteries another 4% they'll be the cat's ass and everyone will happily dump the icky dino juice. I'm not holding my breath that we'll see a 1000 pound battery (approx weight of a V8 engine, 10 speed trans, and 22 gallons of fuel) move a 5000 pound truck 400 miles any time soon.Heck yeah! This country can’t invent anything, never has
But the laws of physics are immutable. There's a reason EV batteries are so heavy. Ironically since weight reduction has been a top priority of automakers for 40 years.Heck yeah! This country can’t invent anything, never has
So driving in the rain is not allowed? It's funny as the only thing that still worked for him was the windshield wipers. Not supposed to get it wet, what an idiot. I bet now he is going to cry warranty !

I bought my 2003 Tacoma Xtra Cab 4x4 in 2008 for $8,000, w/ 60k miles on it. I could sell it today for over $30k. There have been early Tacomas sell for $40k on Bring A Trailer. Here's a low-mile example:rijndael said: "I'd love a Toyota Hilux from the 90s. Stick Shift, 22R Engine ... I'd even take a 4x2."
Our 88 Toy pickup SR5 (4X2) still runs with 450K miles. It's not very beautiful. 22RE. 25mpg. Still.
Actually we have some now.
Nonetheless, none of those repair trucks are EVs. And in a disaster area, with widespread grid destruction, how would you charge EVs after Day 1? Wait, don't tell me dedicated portable diesel generators. And how would those move about? It's a house of mirrors.Actually we have some now.
Remember the testbed airborne nuclear power plant inside an NB-36H? It didn't power the aircraft, they just wanted to carry it around "hot" for a while. But niggling little problems remained unsolved, like the need for heavy shielding to protect the crew and those on the ground from radiation, and dealing with inevitable crashes." Pretty ship, though. That's aHow’s about we up the game and promote miniature nuclear power plants in cars? I mean, if we’re gonna go nuts........let’s go really nuts!![]()
Its no different than it is right now actually. We carry fuel trucks and big generators for the camps. The camps are located in spots that can have power restored very quickly anyway so there is electricity within days if not the first day. The electric bucket trucks and digger derricks are already in the field. The only reason theres none in that picture is that its old. Right now in florida duke energy, fpl, irby, and plc have electric trucks there putting them thru the paces. I doubt theyre venturing off into hell for the 2 day stuck shifts but theyre in service right now. The trucks will come back to camp to grab parts and assignments multiple times a day, so no problem topping them off.Nonetheless, none of those repair trucks are EVs. And in a disaster area, with widespread grid destruction, how would you charge EVs after Day 1? Wait, don't tell me dedicated portable diesel generators. And how would those move about? Why not?I doubt theyre venturing off into hell for the 2 day stuck shifts
Still being tested.Why not?

Ah.Still being tested.
