Do it yourself Stock making thread

Same here Joshb I do the shaping leave 2 parallel sides then into the mill to inlet . This stock was inletted for a barnard in the mill but the rest of It was done in the apart from the final hand shaping and sanding

No. No CNC for me. I can’t program a microwave to cook a hotdog. I have some nice new equipment but I’m working out of the garage. I have to pull the car and tractor out to work on anything.
 
Yep I have a cnc router but it's sitting in the corner as I havnt worked out what program I'm going to use yet . It's only been in the workshop for 7months

there is a tourist trap/restaurant place near me with a little cnc wood router. they make key chains —plaques ect. to sell. its amazing wat that machine can make and quick to. i take it yours is big enough to do a stock??

Yes mines big enough to make Stocks but the main use will be for all my aluminium work I do . Should be heaps quicker than doing it all on the manual mill. I have extensions for the bed 2 out the rotary axis on it aswell or stocks can be made in lefts and rights then epoxied together .
