Keep us updated I'm interested. So tactical advantage = wipeout.I just tried some tactical advantage. Found it no more or less effective than wipeout. But, it has a cool looking bottle and it says TACTICAL on the label. I am going to now try some Shooters Choice amonia based cleaner in the same barrel to see if its truely clean of CU and C
I would be very surprised if this worked any better than other solvents , however if you have any bore scope pictures of the clean barrel, I’d certainly be willing to check it out.And the winner is...... Spray rifle barrel. Let sit 24 hrs. 1 pass with #9 solvent. Dry. Store with Break Free CLP

Nope. The target tells me all i need to know. Ty.bore scope pictures
Waiting 24 hours while the bore is coated is fine if, if you have the time..as in you are all done shooting for the day. However if you clean your barrel at a match, it doesn't work. Plenty of other solvents do.And the winner is...... Spray rifle barrel. Let sit 24 hrs. 1 pass with #9 solvent. Dry. Store with Break Free CLP

So you don't use an oversized brush for cleaning like others have suggested and still get good results (aside from using a larger brush for carbon ring)?Wipeout and accelerator work together and form into a foam. I have a bore scope and I am pleased with the results. Here is a summary of this video.
I almost always let it soak 12 to 24 hrs cuz I can.
I do this but usually 2 patches acc to start instead of 1. I don't do step three every time. Just depends how many rounds I fired.

Is there usually any carbon left in the barrel after cleaning? I see you use iosso as needed. It would be nice not to use iosso at all.
I just called Sharpshootr products and the man on the phone said tactical advantage can be used with accelerator, and to use 3 parts tactical advantage (or patch out), to 1 part accelerator. In his words, 3 drops of tactical advantage or patch out to 1 drop of accelerator. I think he was saying to apply both at the same time to your cleaning brush and not use them in a sequence. Maybe I miss heard him about that.
Concerning abrasives...IIRC Walt Berger ALWAYS used abrasives.
This stuff's ammonia content is way more than what you typically encounter. The smell is 'invigorating', to say the least. It'll make roadkill get up and run away.Keep us updated I'm interested. So tactical advantage = wipeout.
The best stuff I've used was Montana Xtreme copper killer. I think Alex Wheeler recommended it to me and it works really well, but the smell is stronger than anything I've used. They don't make "copper killer" anymore. I think it might have been renamed "copper killer 50 bmg special formula". I'm not sure though.
No doubt it can wake the dead. This stuff's ammonia content is way more than what you typically encounter. The smell is 'invigorating', to say the least. It'll make roadkill get up and run away.
How is the result on target after you discovered the borescope?I always avoided abrasives, right up until I bought an early Lyman bore scope. For most of my shooting career, I always believed that clean white patches exiting the barrel was a sure sign that the bore was squeaky clean.
IME carbon has always been extremely hard to remove. I run several wet patches of BT C4 down the barrel every few hours and then let it sit overnight. Brass brushing in the morning still doesn't remove it all. However, using some Flitz or JB will remove the carbon after an overnight soak.
