Just food for thought but the resulting salts from the reaction with Sweets and what is in the bore could be corrosive and frequent replenishing of Sweets is fine while soaking for longer periods in the resulting salts is not.

Ok, I will explain it to you. If your selling it and 2 patches worth will do the job over say 15 hours or so.........or in that same time period 60 patches of the product to achieve the same result, what would you do. But for your peace of mind maybe you should use 60 patches worth if you think that's the way to go. Just trying to help those with less experience but probably time to quit that.

For the salt to form you must let it dry which I have not found it to do in 24 hrs. Then the salt MAY cause corrosion depending on the particular metal composition.

Copper up a barrel and soak it in Sweets. Then bore scope it.

Then you'll know what one test showed.

Well, I only have big bore rifles and plug the barrel with a rubber plug and stand them up on the barrel. Then I pour in carb cleaner let it set a couple hours. The stuff that drains out is really dirty. Typically, I only need a few patches run through the barrel before they are clean.

I've gone to stress free bedding, and only want behind the lug and the tang touching. Have had excellent results with it, so I'm sticking with it
