Cz 457 mtr eley match, center x, sk pistol match, sk rifle match

Loose
I've tried everything and let others shoot it as well.
I found a few problems, informed CZ and they asked me to send it in, so thats where it is now.
I was informed they are going to do a shot test on it next week to see if it shoots 'within CZ specs' which I think it will, but its still not right to me.
I really think its the barrel. I slugged it and theres a loose spot about 1" from the muzzle, bullet is loose, then gets tight again as it exits. If they send the rifle back as is I'm going to order a Lilja.
I'm also going to cut the factory barrel where the loose spot is and see what happens.
That close to the crown could cause problems. But i would expect that to be a constant. Not shoot good groups then bad groups. But who really knows if you get it back the same hack off the barrel just before the loose spot and see what it does. I just shot a 50 shot group of sk rifle match i damaged with pliers and they still shot good or i should say if i took the 4 high and low shots out it pretty much shot what undamaged ammo did. And i cant say for sure it was the bullets that caused those.

I don't have access to the official ARA Factory Scoring software, so I plotted the shots and input them into the ARA Unlimited target as a virtual composite group.

With the Factory target you obviously couldn't improve on your score of 2500, but it illustrates what VLNBYR states concerning keeping the mathematical center of the 25-shot group centered to maximize your score.

In this case, on an Unlimited ARA target, not being centered costs the shooter 300 points (2125 minus 1825). That's a HUGE difference and it was caused by being less than a single click off on a 1/8 MOA scope.

All of the top shooters shade the dot to accomplish this and very few are able to just shoot the dot or they suffer the consequences. This is very difficult to do in tricky wind conditions and sometimes nearly impossible, but the very best somehow manage to do it quite often.

I have seen shooters miss low shot after shot because they hate to see one blow out the top. Same with crosswinds, miss out to the side shot after shot because they hate to see that shot that goes right where they are aiming. Most shooters center punch a lot of their shots but what makes the difference in winners and losers is how bad your worst shots score.

Thanks for the detailed post. I might change my zero 1 or 2 clicks down on my scope next time out. It seems if i shoot groups me and the rifle shoot more consistent. When i shoot 1 shot per dot i start getting erratic shots. Which i 100 percent believe is my rear bag setup. From groups i shoot i should clean targets alot. I am just getting comfortable with this bench shooting finding my stride.

Thanks for the pointer. I will drop my elevation 1 click or 2 next trip out. This is my zero currently. 50 shots at 50 yards. Sk rifle match. Includes cold clean bore shot. I shoot worse moving 1 shot per target. I am honing in on my rear bag consistently and making sure i am aligned for each shot. Currently improving each shoot. Screenshot_20210910-095833_Gallery.jpg

My CZ is on its way back home. They emailed me this accuracy test at 50 yds.
Looks like they shot 10 shots at each. Has some vertical stringing going on, but passed their 1 moa guarantee.
I'll have to start over with it.

Nice my test target is just a test . Rifle shoots way better than target they shipped me

Here are some pics of the bore on my CZ457 MTR. Are the machine marks something to be concerned about? The marks are about 1" forward of the chamber.

If it shoots nope. If it shoots good then fouls bad and accuracy takes a crap yes. If you cant shoot 150 rounds without loosing accuracy . I would not be happy. But in all honesty i doubt those tooling marks are hurting accuracy.
