COVID-19 Vaccine -- Over 70 Age

What does the Ivermec do? It is a swine wormer and prevents canine heartworms, that's what I used it for. Didn't know it had any response in the human immune system.

I understand Zinc has to be chelated and taken with Quercetin and Bromelain for it to be absorbed.

James, please be careful, I have had 2 close friends suffer with Covid, both ended up in the ICU and nearly died. I worry the vaccine may attack organs sometime down the road.... but I am going to take it.

I live on the border of Manatee and Hillsborough Co., just 30 miles south of Tampa. There is a place somewhere in Tampa, University Mall (wherever that is) you can sign up for. I did and nothing. Been a month. Far as I know other than Sun City residents, there is no other place to go. Plus, I do not like and rarely drive into Tampa. I hate cities.

Wife has us together on two lists in Sarasota. Nothing. If you are not in the VA system, a nursing home or "first responder" ... nothing. Even asked my doctor last week at a normal check-up. Nothing. If you do not have and use internet, I bet there is literally no chance.

Captain just making sure you are aware of this website https://myvaccine.fl.gov

And this website has a list of vaccination sites https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/covid-19-vaccines-in-florida/

You probably have this but just making sure. FL has been woeful at delivering vaccines.

I may be in error on this however my understanding is that all the current "Covid vaccines" are still considered as experimental and not approved by the FDA? As previously mentioned by others deciding to obtain this vaccine is an individual choice and at this point being in excellent health at age 72 I have decided not to take it.
Woah! I hope you think twice about this decision. Someone I know bout 6 years younger than you, in physically great shape, exercise, diet all the things one should do, caught covid. He was in the hospital for over a month, on ventilators for 2 weeks, had a mild heart attack in the hospital and us still trying to get back to normal after 3 months. COVID is nothing to sneeze at and NO ONE knows how their system will react to it if caught.

I'm over 70, and I had the good fortune to be notified that the local health district might have extra vaccine since the first priority groups didn't all show up. So I got the Pfizer vaccine. Before that I read many article to Get More Information. I had no reaction from it whatsoever, not even a sore arm. I don't think I'm 100% immune, even after the second shot, still, it's very much a relief to be "prepped" to combat this nasty coronavirus.
The Pfizer and Modern vaccines make you about 94% immune two weeks after your second shot. If you do catch it the likelihood of you having serious effects from covid are greatly reduced. I'm with you, I had my second shot Wednesday no ill effects. Just a bit of soreness around the needle stick which is gone today.

The registration system in NY is DIFFICULT but if you have smart kids who will spend the time trying, it's not impossible. The day after the Governor announced that residents 65yo + over were eligible for the vaccine my daughter got busy.
My wife and I have now both had the Pfizer shots and experienced no adverse side effects. It's been 11 days since we received the 2nd shot so we should be at the 95% protection rate that is claimed. We're breathing much easier now and we plan to start doing some of the things we've avoided over the last 6 months or so. Yea - we still wear masks whenever in public but I feel a lot safer then I did before the inoculation.

got a recorded call yesterday from our medical provider kaiser permanente they handle our medicare senior advantage plan to schedule for covid shots, me 71 wife 69 got us appointments for march 3 shes happy camper im just ok about it. was due for a knee replacement last march then all elective surgery was suspended until this crap is over with to keep hospital beds open, I've been hobbling around for over a year. stay well

I was in the Hospital for 5 days for a sever infection. I asked every nurse about 10, every nurse aide/tech about 10 and every doctor which was about 5. The split was almost 50/50 and this on a ward that was ICU and Pediatric ICU. Single patient to each room so conversations were very private. The staff for it were very vocal and loud and those against talked is softer tones and not very enthusiastic. I kept my door shut. Very polarizing topic even among medical professionals! I did not get the idea that politics had anything to do with it either.

I like my wine and my whisky older than 8 weeks old! LOL I like the clinical trails for anything injected into my body to have been tested longer than 8 weeks before emergency role out. I think I already had Covid-19 but since no one does antibody test in my area just PCR I do not know. I have been tested 6 times not by choice for COvid-19 and each time I test negative. They test you twice before admitting you for to the hospital. If you go to any clinic for anything from ear ache to bronchitis they check you for Covid-19. No vaccine has ever been able to produce the same level of immunity as actually being exposed to the contagions and fighting it off. So if someone has already had it the vaccine is not really needed. If you do not do an antibody test you have no clue what the true level of exposure is to the population at large since they figure 65% to 85% of people that are exposed will be asymptomatic depending on which source you listen to.

If their goal was truly to get to heard immunity levels they would roll it out first come first serve anyone that wants it and can stand in line get's it. That is what would generate the most excitement, interest, desire to get it and get to heard immunity the fastest. Likewise making it available at Walmart, Rite Aid, CVS would speed roll out.

Oh and do not worry so much about the second shot. Sure it is nice if you can get it but if something happens and you can not depending on which one it is you still have 65% to 90% efficacy as they are finding in UK and other countries. Some countries would rather get more people a first shot than get fewer people 2 shots. In UK and other countries they have pushed the second shot out to a minimum of 12 weeks from the time of the first shot were initially the vaccine manufactures were calling for 12 to 29 days for the follow-up shot. Things are changing daily and not at all cast in stone so I would not worry much about getting the second shot the first one does the most heavy lifting!

I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine Wednesday despite the weather effects and road closures here. Since the clinic I received my vaccinations from was supplied with the Pfizer vaccine they strongly encouraged everyone to try to keep their vaccine appointments since there's such a limited time window for use it or lose it after being removed from deep freeze storage.

I had similar reaction to mybsecond dose as my first: sore shoulder (still a little tender) and feeling rundown the next 2 days. I'm glad I did what I did when I did, the vaccine shipment for the following day wasn't delivered due to road conditions, they've been playing catch-up with everyone's appointments disrupted yesterday & today and will continue through Tuesday next week.

Everyone is certainly empowered to make their own decision on this, I'm not arguing for or against, just my decision for me, and my experience. I know plenty of people in Group 1A currently passing on getting vaccinated for now anyway as they're in good health and want the available supply to be available for other Group 1A (nursing home residents) and Group 1B individuals.

Just got called from the VA , I'm in their system . Could have been vaccinated this week , being I had the virus the doctor feels it's best to wait 90 days so they scheduled me for a March 26 shot. The VA is giving me excellent care. To all you veterans , get in the system .

You'll be fine. I had a mild fever and body aches for 1 day on my second dosage.
12 hours after getting the 2nd shot, it hit me like a ton of bricks. Aches, chills, nausea, fever up to 102ºF. Lasted 36 hours and the stopped. You might say I had a "robust" immune response.

Turned 71 yesterday and got my 2nd shot, these girls just might let move back in the house in the next week or two.
Shoot Piarte, if you play your cards right, those girls might move you back in and stay for a few days too! Sound to me like you are on top of your game right now!!! Old dog! You still got it!!!

Well ; another week has gone by , and I still can't get on the list for my first shot because now they're only taking appointments for second shots . Been taking Zinc Picolinate & Quercetin for six weeks now , as a prophylaxis , and so far , so good . Now our Dictator-in-Chief announces "He" is going to insure that other countries get the vaccine , "As soon as possible" , to "Insure equity" for the world community , while his own citizens can't even get on a waiting list ? "You White , Anglo-Saxon , American Citizen Trump voter , gun owner , Veterans get to the back of the line" . "WE HAVE TO INSURE SOCIAL JUSTICE EQUITY " !

70 + Opened at 09:49 on Tuesday in Fly Over Oregone ! 3,140 vaccines available .
Wife opened two Browsers . We got Lucky a 3:40 and a 4:15 on the 26th for our first shot.
We had signed up on four sites. We got in on St. Charles Hospital to the County Fair Grounds .
As the Local News reported only took 2 hours to fill up 3,140 First Shot slots .

As a member of the military (17 years) I was vaccinated more times than I care to admit for things I had never heard of. I didn't really have a choice. I also had confidence in the folks putting those needles in my arms, (except the Anthrax series - that was kind of sketchy).

All of these vaccinations were based on a credible threat to make sure that I could still do my part and make it home safe.

Life brings changes and now I travel extensively to go to work. I live in a camp at work, and when I am home I do a very good job of isolating. I have been tested 39 times since last February and every time it has been negative. I had 88K air miles last year.

I have managed to stay out of harm's way by protecting myself. IF I get the vaccine, I have to do all of the same things I still do, but now have to intentionally take the risk? No thank you.

I will be waiting for the masks to come off, travel to open up, businesses to re-open, restaurants to allow folks inside, and FAR less government overreach before I take the vaccination step.

What I won't do is say that anyone should or should not get the vaccination. It is a personal decision that should be made by the absolute expert for your body - you - not a government shill.

I don't have time to skim the whole thread, but I didn't see anyone mention the cv vaccination only lasts 3-4 months (found that out during a hospital stay from a nurse). And is hoped to get you through flu season?
If that's the case, I'm not interested.
Some people who get the VIRUS are immune for only 3-4 months. The VACCINE makes you good for about a year, is their best guess now.

However long it is good for, it is no big deal if I have to go get a booster shot to re-up now and then. No big deal at all. Yes, there are treatments but there are also some wealthy people dying still even though they got all the treatments.

To me this is like the polio vax that became available when I was a kid. There is no way I would skip this wonderful opportunity.
