Death rate is extremely low in Netherlands, most recent figure 4 deaths per day or 0.23 deaths per 1M population (7 day average.) The EU average is 0.18 deaths per 1M.

The Kansas Secretary of the Department Health created a chart intended to show the effectiveness of masks, and to indicate that mask-wearing counties have been considerably safer than non-mask-wearing counties.

About 3 weeks after the Sturgis Bike Rally ends, we'll begin to see the badass bikers start to fall ill and die. But Sturgis will have benefited from their money spent, and taxes collected and that's the most important part. Sturgis residents will then be subjected to widespread testing to gather data about spread. Meanwhile the superspreaders and their victims will have taken the virus home with them.

I'd say that in the coming weeks we will see some "bad-ass bikers" die, and some of them will die of the Covid. The ones who die of the Covid, will do so at whatever rate per million any Covid victim dies at.
I was never much of a "bad-assed biker" -- maybe I was just a "half-assed biker". But I know what I'd have said about cowering inside to prevent catching a virus.

Listen guys. Just do as you are told - live in fear and paranoia. I had a friend tell me his mother died of CV19. Turned out she had stage 4 cancer and was told to go home and get things in order. Then he went on to tell me it was pneumonia that got her.
It's so bad my pastor at church in his sermon told us how he turned to a guy in the grocery line who didn't have a mask on and told him he should consider that the pastor is old and has some health complications and wear a mask out of courtesy. I would have personally told him that if his problems put him that much at risk, he should stay home out of respect for my knowledge that masks probably cause lots of problems while solving none. Yes, he's the same pastor that I asked to pray and fast with me for God to eliminate the virus and perhaps get the church to join in. His response: "I will try to pray more about the virus and get other's to pray too" (never heard the virus mentioned since then by him).
It's easy. I don't wear masks because of the videos below and because I have yet to see anyone with anything other than 2 ply paper masks or masks made of a t-shirt like material.

Deliberately designed to be misleading.
Looks like Mask counties cases per 100,000 dropped from 26 to 16 during the time period depicted, while No Mask counties dropped from 10 to 9. Am I reading that right?

Wow... so they intentionally created a chart with different Y axis range scales to make it look like the “Non Mask” counties are experiencing higher rates! Sad, very sad...
Countries with higher case count, when faced with a reluctance to lock down again, have turned to the next best alternative of mask wearing. Countries that aren't facing a high case count pressure are less, well, pressured to resort to such. So it's actually quite sensible (i.e. not at all unexpected) to see the difference in scale. What the graphic does suggest is that those with masks are seeing falling case count whereas those without are exhibiting no progress and in that regard the graphic serves its intended purpose and is completely valid. Now whether that progress is due to masks (which might at worst only help remind people of their civic responsibility to take the virus and social distancing seriously) or other factors cannot be determined from those facts alone.
You'd have to be rather stupid to read it that way but then many are

The chart is Exhibit A for "fake news". Only 999 out of 1000 viewers would be fooled. Here's the same data in the more common simplex graph:

Even in Kansas, one of the darkest red states, the noble health department kommissars couldn't disseminate the truth unobfuscated. The end (saving precious souls from their own choices) justifies employing fake news. Of course, it's complicated. Obviously (I'm looking at you, @SGK) counties which warranted a mask mandate were already suffering higher infection rates, so it's not unexpected they continue to. And, their infection rates have fallen, whereas the no-mask counties have stayed level. Still, the data presentation was obfuscated, and for an obvious purpose. If you look at the more honest graph above, you might not feel wearing a mask is worth the fuss, and we can't have that.
